Censorship is just . . . wrong.

I'm not against filtering. I'd like to be able (me, not someone else) to dismiss poison-headlines. I can already do this with images.

Craigs list has this as a feature. If you are no longer interested in an listed item you can dismiss it. And so it has to be a feature of a site, it would be a great improvement, it might make things very skimpy after a time. But it also could be used to ascertain how often the site updates. For example . . .

So I really need to give examples of crap news that you don't want to have to read the poison headlines over and over? How many times do you need to see a mug shot of a murderer, and yet many modern sites spam the whole page with it. I'd not mind it if was an angel face of someone awesome (Sean) but there is a certain level of hero worship that doesn't work after awhile. It's not good to be so focused on the holy dead without also taking great concern for all the people (and don't call them heros, because don't we want, rather, that bad things don't have to happen) who are potentially gong to be put into a place of having to be a hero, even if it harms them greviously. That is why we shouldn't blow smoke up their ears so that they get all full of themselves. But you know, if I had a free and clear picture or two of my hero, Sean, I'd do with him what I can do with other images. But I don't. I never knew him for real. So isn't it strange of me to be so enamoured of him? He really was kind of awesome and I wish he could have . . . could shoulda woulda. I've written a lot about him, and of course it's all just based on what I saw in articles.

My point: we do venerate some people. And that might mean, like a Che tee-shirt, we do some arty presentation of them. I find it tasteless to do this for political people while they are still living. As much as I love Doug Flutie (a local boy here in my home town) even if he might have been a rival of my buddy (who really was envious of Darrin, by the way, Darrin, he was soooo jealous of you), Doug was a hero of sorts. I remember his Hail Mary pass. Even though I grew up up the hill from him, and that crowd wasn't my crowd, and they were kinda weenies to us (when they were young and not yet enlightened), I know now that it was my friend who made it impossible for me to be their friends, even though I did admire them and understand how cool it was for them to be playing street hockey all day, blocking the road. Some people had issues with it. I didn't ever run over their hockey net. Someone else did, who looks a lot like me. And maybe they didn't understand that I was not the one who had done that.

In any case, childhood ends at some point for most people. I never had a real conversation with any of them. But let me tell you that Doug is a dedicated man and he does a lot of good: Autism makes child care very difficult. Being awesome makes a kid very conceited. So when they named the road after him, I thought that was too much. If they name a road after Sean, I'll be there cheering it on!

Doug and Sean are both real. One is gone, and one is rocking on. Rock on, Doug.

And I am sure that eventually when we have a great choice of a road we can name it after Sean. and plaster his happy mug on every teeshirt, in a Wharhol style, rocking heaven and still being awesome.

But as far as idiots who are combatents of some cause from overseas, that some call 'immigrents' and some 'refugees', I don't care to see their face. Ever. I don't care to know their names. If the war is just that they fight they should have just started being blabber mouths. Propagandize for the ideas of loving change by our currupt puppet masters, you who have no more chords attached. Instead of being an idiot with a war againt trash cans, why can't you express the ideas that you have heard, and let us tell you what we think, and spread the word about the tyranny that you fight. If you kill us we don't get your message, if it is, indeed, worth hearing at all. So do some writing. And do some commenting. And don't make weapons or bombs. And don't spread lies. Or live in delusions as if, when you yell your holy name, that you are doing it for He who the name calls. You call Him when you're killing people do you think that He'll be impressed? Seriously? For innocents walking by a trash can, some homeless guy grubbing for partials saves a hundred people from flip-phone hell. How could anyone be proud of such behavior? What cause would be so just that such behavior would push it forward? The cause of no more war and you make more war?

Hard news isn't poison headlines. It's just a necessary part of the modern age. But what is? those things that we keep seeing that are just paid-placed-BS for some product or idea or fowl urge of some petty governance.

Journalism is a serious business, and we ought to augment the presentation of real journalism by disallowing the idea that a journalist is ever hired by a corporation, etc. Instead they ought to just be able to sponser them: so that journalism would retain it's integrity. and the sponsership ought to be secret, so that there is no quid-pro-quo. And that would prevent stupid and horrible behavior like what Fox nouse did to Greta, and her Greta wire. Shameless censorship at the level of what Stalin demanded be done to those who he purged.

So it's a tough thing, this 'dismiss the poison headline' ap. What if someone uses it on you without you knowing it, an AI entityt that has a line on everyone's news feeds and is so super smart that AI entitty, a thrall of some big governance, would know everyone and feed as all different flavors of BS. Not something that we wouldn't find out about after a time. OK, so they can delete 10 years of journalistic effort and then they still want us to take them seriously? Screw off. I've canceled yuo. I only watch occasionally on an ap, if there is abslutely nothing else on. And as for Greta, I am sure she's got a new place by now. I should find it and give her a plug.

Ya, censorship is just wrong. Stalinist deletion of a whole ten years of effort by a well respected journalist? Shameless and wicked.

Where is greta now? She sitll owns one of the domain names and she has redireted it to a pet adoption web site. I have not found any new blog by her, though I haven't looked very hard.

Greta may have been purged from Faux Noose but her mug still shows up on their ap (at least it did a few days ago, I havne't gone their lately).
