And did he ever even get to that part about 'helmet safety' and that the guy in the photo wasn't wearing one?
Oh, no, yet another topic for the echo factory to pretend that people care about and repeat over and over.
this is a lot more fun than wading in through the chan spam.

Kafka wrote comedy. Orwell was a pessimist. Depends who you ask.
The constant deprecation of everything that some in the political sphere try to pull off results in a disrespecting of the established things that did once work. But it seems to have devolved to rule of men which only works until someone does things with bold audacity. That is a game plan that some people feed to their children. If you get to that place do this kind of advice that you hope kids would understand is cray cray. But some don't, and they act out those 'save the world for the paroolleessee' fantasies. Oh, the endless nostalgia for the free and feel-good feeling.
One man's garden is another man's sad and silly despairing mud waller. You say you are a farmer. I say you got some free ranging livestock, feral hogs who tare up the hardwood forests.
We could argue about it all night.
there is no point in that.
Life is ultimately pointless, the governance of tyrants always becomes void. They never make it farther than the end of a fourth, and rarely fifth act.
If I tell you about my delusions to speak freely, delete, poem, delete. If I tell you about lurid stories of the festerbog . . . and a story that I wrote in the long ago inspired by stories of a secret meetings of a submissive press. I took it lower, they were actual creature of a biological preserve, and living in the festerbog in some capital city, and transanthromorphogenic chem-creatures of the pill-pot scrum. If you take that you turn into this. If you take this you turn into that. It doesn't make sense unless you see a narrator pointing at a chart with either the kind of substance and then the kind of strange creature that it makes you into. There would be a full selection of possibilities, and it would all be very graphical. You can imagine, for yourself, what they are, what htey might be.
If writers fear a clamp down then they don't share with you their best stuff. If writing seems prophetic, a conjecturing author is merely hitting the ball out of the park some of the time. If someone can predict the debachury and in humanity of others do they do it willy nilly, or do they only speak when they can't hold back any longer (my recommendation) meanwhile writing all kinds of stories that channel the urges of the day that the author feels about the putrid nature of politics and the institutional delusions of the institutionally demented governance, that no one dares say out loud, or by name except to be put on a list and give it to some glowering psychotic from the departmentos of depressingly real governance of glowering burghers, kings, queens, or whatevers of their very many holy realms of governance and if we dare . . . to call them out .. . .their glaring down their nose scowl might just reach out and grab ya . . . You'd be trippin' then.
So I just use nightmare logic on the news of the day. If it's too dire, too sour, too putrid to deal with, and it makes you sad, maybe it's all just some grand delusion of targeted message. You really don't know beyond the end of the walk whats really going on anywhere, do you? despite the memories of everything else that you lived through, and you know about, it all just a big glow of memory in some sense. And so much that people put out as being holy and important is often just the afterglow of hearing constant fables. They sound real nice. They let the little ones hide the fears that any one who doesn't have understanding would have, children before they learn the important truths of life and love and trust and the value of traditions and scripture . . . how do they know unless someone teaches them. Before that they are but babies crying in the wilderness. All alone, and no one goes out to help them even though everyone can hear them that needs to and this is playing to some paranoid urge, automatic writing doesn't always lead you to the happy place.
So the stuff that we don't publish here, is kind of dark at times. For example who really wants to read an extension of my dark novel The Blunderbooubes which exists as a draft but only some few pages before I decided that it wasn't worth writing at all. And besides that such a story, to be believable, would need an outline. But it is written to be incredible, and supposed to be an obvious false narrative, as a parody of conspiracy theories, or the more polite and less derogatory way of calling them "paranoid alternative conjecture" which lets the readers and listeners know . . . yes please know, that we are fully aware that this stuff that we, ourselves, are making up (I add other people in because I am sure that awareness of this is not only by me. People who conjecture should always know that thier narratives are but conjecture, and not fact or opinion. But conjecturing is what a healthy mind does, when hunkered down within the chilly dusk and with the skies filled with smoke from the volcanoes of stock outrage from various arms of governance. Yes, so many are blowing smoke, all kinds of smoke. The year for blowing smoke. And we are supposed to be afraid of a group deciding to stop with an experiment that had been imposed upon them by past generations. A mistake doesn't need to continue. A bad idea doesn't have to be carried forward. And conjectures of political nature ought not to be considered anything more than fiction. But here's the thing: "the thing is (what the thing is)"
Some times even in fiction there are truths to be shown. And so often part of the purpose of that kind of fiction is to show such truths. When I describes the tribes of governance as if they are tribes of creatures (strange creatures) I might not even know what kind of truth my readers might find. Some truths an author hopes will be made obvious. Ultimately there could be more there that the author doesn't even consider. (my point?)
I can't just come out and say what I imagine. It wouldn't be correct because I'm just conjecturing, based upon scant evidence. So I write a lurid fiction of strange creatures of power, who can be under a chem-induced spell and are secret press submissives. What purpose do I have in writing such a fiction?
Just of what am I accusing this, as so described, governance? What crimes or affronts do they seem to commit?
I dare not give you a list. It's available elsewhere, anyway. Rule of law is the way of the true governance. The governance of men (women, whateva), which makes up rules as it goes along, is a failure of governance. It doesn't matter, in that case, as long as the ones in positions of authority have a sense of common purpose: the true spirit of working together and that all must end up with their lives and dignity. Winners and losers are all the same. We have an inclusive point of view.
What happens, though, when leaders decided that they don't care what the law says and just decree spur of the moment changes in law, without any kind of democratic or electoral process? Tyranny it is called when those in charge start being brutal in their methods. If that isn't happening yet, when governance becomes like that, History shows, that abuses of authority will soon follow. For that kind of governance also can become aristocratic and feudal.
Some parts of the governance of our society has devolved back to feudalism. The various principalities and fiefs are various non-prophets and quasi-governmental governance. Also giant pools of capital are a kind of new feudal kingship. But they don't have horsemen and archers. Instead they send out their capital and let that trample down the lowly of the very many nations.
In Great Britain they are going to vote about their future. Which ever way they vote can't we all agree we will still work with them and be there for them as allies and recognize the commonality of our cultures, and that we aren't going to put up with any malicious economic tinkerings to be imposed upon them. They are our friends and allies in any case.
And Republicans should feel that way about Democrats and people should not hate Donald Trump. He is not an evil man.
The future is now, folks. You can go with what you know is real in your hearts. No matter which way the wind blows the bonds between people are stronger than a yes or a no vote for some blind cause. If nations cant respect the decisions of other nations when questions are put up for the vote, and say 'we are with you either way' then that is why they need to vote to assert their independence and right of self-determination.
They want to send a strong message to those who would damn them for voting to be free or to redefine the relationship.
The scare mongers are paid to scare people. But we'll point out that it's just a horror show, only a staged production. If the world falls apart it won't be because of how the British decide. It would have fallen apart anyway, and by it's own flaws. The British staying in would only delay the inevitable for the European Union
Very many people are now writing the narrative that the EU is a modern tyranny of heedless, self-serving and highly incompetent governance. The narrative goes that EU were a creation of . . . so very many years ago and that this group is now being tossed from the heaven of being a plausible intellegencia worthy of being moral and social and economic guides for large parts of humanity. The narrative from those quarters seems to be that they are the only guides who they will let be sanctioned. In other words: do as they say or else. And it is far fetched that when governance devolves to being petty and tyrannical and 'foregone' and heedless, it is far fetched that people will still give it credence as viable leaders. The model of 'mayor', governor, king, president. is a more sane model than heedless remote beurocracy of tyrannical self-importance. What some call 'the corporate state'.
It's all an illusion, I assure you. There really is no corporate state. It's just a lot of high-priests of the do-as-we-say priesthood of ideological nepotistic urban dwelling psuedo-intellegensia petty bush-whack z, incompetentocracy of heedless self-important conformist submissives who do what the redictiphone tells them to do and listen to the cray cray of crusty envious poison mentors.
Wouldn't a world like that be a mean world? See how I have to make it a fiction. No one could really be so vile and following the bad lords into Mordor. If people were ever really like that wouldn't they see it in themselves and reform? That is why I say it has to be a fiction, even if it appears to be that way by reading about it on the Internet at people's websites, or going to original sources.
So what should we know, if we can't know all of that conjecture? Well we should know that nations should be friendly and that no one vote is ever going to drive a wedge between the people of this world who, hands across the water, actually care about each other.
Most people don't care much about borders except when they get used to impose tyrannical governance of heedless bureaucracy.
And if people vote that they want their old nation back, fine for them. We were going to support them either way. Unconditionally.
Unconditional love. No one vote is the final vote. Worlds don't collapse due to a single plebiscite.

Praise The Lord for insight given!
as an example . . . I have tried to do some introspective things as I come into awareness of my own flaws, and recognize the way I act and correct my self and make a better narrative for myself and for others.
you raise me up from far away when a memory of you lifts me!
Somethings never change nothing need stay the same ah, but on a website the constant change is kind-of the point . . .
change without continuity and tradition is often very hard to manage for those thrust into it. And thus the frame of things gives a place for the change to happen. If you violate that idea then you are coming up with something completely different and maybe no one will want to see your new idea, or use your great, new venue, because it's too far out, and very far away from what they currently care about. It's a nether or a meta and it's merely for a lark? Or does it become the next big thing? As fun as graphics are (CGI) and animation, and making a world to fly around in (like minetest, which is easy when you learn how) ultimately such a meta is a hollow place. It's a distraction during the season of gaming. It allows one to brush up on geometry and math, and architectural design, it gives people training in computer languages, it allows someone to make some graphical ideas, and pass a few hours of time every few days or so . . .
To live within such a realm really isn't possible.

After 40 different versions what can one say about it anymore? It's installed in all my systems, a day earlier. There are a few minor issues, but no show stoppers.

Ya, I decided to load Fedora Core 38 Beta about a month ago, and this machine kept shutting down . . . I think I finally fixed it. Tomorrow is the big release day for the Fedora Core 38. My production workstation is still running FC37. I don't know if I'll jump right on it right away. . .
my server is still resetting, or maybe I have it fixed. I decided to just remove plasma-desktop, as I don't use it. The journals were giving all kinds of errors with that, and I think that might have been the issue, conflicting with the gdm that I do use. Worst case I'd just go to runlevel 3 but, as I said in another column, I don't really even know if anyone views these pages anyway.
My production box would upgrade but the dnf says it would downgrade grum and associated tools, and that's never a good thing to do. I'm just not going to do it! anyway I'll check tomorrow when the offical release is and probably do it then. If I'm in the mood.
So now I've run every version of Fedora serving this website! that's a long time.

It took some time to figure out how to defeat the new screensaver built in, but I was able to. It's the biggest downside to the new Gnome.
I set the keybindings to something I don't use, and then put in a custom keybinding to use the old tool.
There are other minor things that annoy too, like the restoration of a deleted file that I always have to delete again on every FC core upgrade. The file is name camera-shutte.oga. It's in /usr/share/sounds/freedesktop/stereo

At the precipice of coding.
a mountain trail often has a place with a great view and a perilous fall if you wonder just a bit too far to one side of the trail. It's called a precipice. It's not a scary place. It's a safe place that one passes through.
OK, so I've done an update to FC34.
the biggest issue was . . . . drum roll . . .a lock up of gnome.
and if i clicked on the activities button I would need to reload (log out log back in).
I was able to run stuff without that, and thus determined a list of files that might need to be removed. I did as full reinstall of gnome as such:
dnf reinstall gnome
then I did a
dnf list installed |grep fc33
which gave me a list of files to consider uninstalling.
from that I got the following:
first odd issue:
sudo was not at first working! I had to install it! I kept the configuration file so I have my preferences still set up.
dnf install sudo dnf reinstall gnome-* dnf reinstall kde* dnf reinstall NetworkManager* dnf remove gnome-screensaver dnf remove gnome-shell-extension-desktop-icons-20.04.0-2.fc33.noarch dnf remove xorg-x11-xkb-extras-7.7-33.fc33.x86_64 dnf remove compat-openssl10-1:1.0.2o-11.fc33.x86_64 dnf remove mozjs60-60.9.0-7.fc33.x86_64
there are still some fc33 packages, (I also looked for fc32 packages, anything older that was gnome)
sudo dnf list installed |grep fc33 biber.noarch 2.14-4.fc33 @fedora gamin.x86_64 0.1.10-37.fc33 @fedora libgta.x86_64 1.0.9-5.fc33 @fedora
if removing a package also removed large numbers of other packages, I left it. For each of the few that I did remove, I always would make sure by reading what would happen before agreeing to the transaction.
now the gnome-shell is working and it doesn't lock up. So which of the packages that I removed made the difference? I am not sure.
and so after just a few short hours of install, I've got my system working in away that seems normal.
the new gnome shell moves the icons to the bottom of the screen.
I find gnome-shell to be annoyingly poppy at times. I tend to do things rapidly, and all the popping can be nauseating.
It is helpful to learn how to use dnf. I've found that the reverse history stuff works as long as you haven't made too many changes. It's a dicey, though, to try and go back to an older revision but I did it ONCE. Next time it didn't work out so well. AT that point it was installing dnf and yum from rpms.
and I had success. It's the kind of thing that when you know how to do it . . .
but there was one other trick that I needed and it was a scary way to reset a password and I did discover how to do it. I'm not sharing that one (barely remember) it's like these things exist in a nether, and it's best to . . . let the knowledge fade unless you need it. It's too scary to dwell in that space.
anyway, gnome shell is working. It's not flighty and hanging up. And all it took was to remove the old packages of gnome that might conflict with it. And now I can continue with my review.
