"It's flooding down in Texas . . . "
Rule number one of flash floods: still water runs deep. You can't drive through a filled up gorge. And sometimes roads are build with a filled in gorge. The locals didn't understand the hydrology at the time, and the lay of the land demands that the water flow in a certain way. And the Earth will shift, cracking open, thrusting over. Sometimes this happens deep wtihin the Earth through some kind of process that isn't really fully comprehended. In any case a filled in gorge can wash away, along with the road on top of it, due to the force of floods. And thus you drive through what looks like calm water. You know that the road is right below, right? But the road is not there anymore. It's washed away with all the fill that was used to cover the gorge.
Of course on televison they show people driving through, like it's all OK, like they are sure that the road is still there, and maybe they are.
Some years back in a New Hampshire town during a period of heavy rain a dam breech caused a huge and unexpected flood in a town. A bunch of people died. In one case it was a young couple in a subaru or that kind of rig, one that had a lot of good years and has a few bad ones left that you see the young adults driving in the hills of New Hampshire (and where ever there are hills and people that like to drive safe during hte snow. In any case there was a flagger at the bridge, Probably with lights, and these young adults did not heed the warning to turn around but instead fled off into the fog to cross the bridge that was not there anymore. Their car got thrown into the wash, down into the drink. If you go to this place it's a typical valley and a typical New Hampshire valley town. Bucallac in the summer when the water's clean, a fun Summer spot that is doable in the Winter as well, close enough to everything, but well enough off the beaten track that it's not a common pass through, people don't typically go there except to be there, or to see it. There aren't any grocery stores. There might be a small family store, maybe a few more businesses with Summer hours, and maybe some snow-mobile mechanics with a sign by a carriage house, the entrance is around the back. That business has Winter hours. Probably just go bang the knocker.
In any case it always puzzled me why these two who perished didn't obey the officer and turn back, but instead went forward to try to pass over the flood, but the bridge was already in the river then. That young couple perished as well. It occured to me that perhaps these two were holding (holding what?) and thought that the stop was a 'drug enforcement' roadblock, or a drunk check. And, drive it like you stole it, I'm not going back to Hverhill (I think that is where a drug offender with priors would have to go back to in NH), the young man . . . in stead . . . made the rebel choice to just run for it. But there wasn't any drunk check, and there wasn't any one seeing if the drivers were high or if the occupents had prior warrents
I don't give you details of this because I've fictionalized the two who perished (there were actually 6, if my memory serves, who perished that night). I don't know their reputation, if the guy (or the woman with him) had priors, or even if their car was indeed a Subaru (something like that. I could have been an old Toyota, the frame cracked and wagging, but still it runs like a top and will run the mud off in the low parts of a field and some day, when it stops forever, say the back half snaps off of it, you can still call the guy and he'll come haul it away and pay for it as metal scrap, you'll get a couple hundred dollars or more. At the end of it.
After that Idon't hear so much about road blocks for drug checks. Maybe my novelization of those events is close to what really happened. And as far as it being a dam breech? What is the liability in that? Sometimes things that happen in New Hampshire don't get well reported. So if it were a dam breach the insurance companies would be nosing around.
Any way, sad details. My main point today: if there are floods, and the road is now in a river remember: rivers cause errosion. The road might not still be where it was even minutes earlier. That part of the road may have broken up into hunks and parts and gravel as the flood rushes through. The best choice: don't drive through deep water without knowing the topography of what's beneath the flow. Unless you are in a boat, or an Amphibicar you may end up washed down into the flow, rolling over and drowned.

We sure do need a billion dollar idea.
The tolerance of alternative views has waned in much of the media. The people put -up with a clamp down on ideas. They go into the face-crook jungle thnking that they 'connect' with 'friends', but much of it is virtual. They've been botted. unfriend the intollerance of jingoistic ideologues.

as an example . . . I have tried to do some introspective things as I come into awareness of my own flaws, and recognize the way I act and correct my self and make a better narrative for myself and for others.

Somethings never change nothing need stay the same ah, but on a website the constant change is kind-of the point . . .
change without continuity and tradition is often very hard to manage for those thrust into it. And thus the frame of things gives a place for the change to happen. If you violate that idea then you are coming up with something completely different and maybe no one will want to see your new idea, or use your great, new venue, because it's too far out, and very far away from what they currently care about. It's a nether or a meta and it's merely for a lark? Or does it become the next big thing? As fun as graphics are (CGI) and animation, and making a world to fly around in (like minetest, which is easy when you learn how) ultimately such a meta is a hollow place. It's a distraction during the season of gaming. It allows one to brush up on geometry and math, and architectural design, it gives people training in computer languages, it allows someone to make some graphical ideas, and pass a few hours of time every few days or so . . .
To live within such a realm really isn't possible.
