And did he ever even get to that part about 'helmet safety' and that the guy in the photo wasn't wearing one?
Oh, no, yet another topic for the echo factory to pretend that people care about and repeat over and over.
this is a lot more fun than wading in through the chan spam.

I love commercials with pop up sprites and actors hamming it up. The more actors and crew on the commercial, the better I like it. Well, not always. But that does help.
Pretty much don't like health commercials. I find it unhealthful to be constantly reminded of disease and all the symptoms that bad-drugs cause.
I think it would be good to return to a time when pharmaceutical companies don't have commercials.
I would enjoy being able to opt out of all commercials for drugs.
I especially dislike the litany of disease that always come during these.
I find it troubling and unhealthful. It's a form of constant badgering, like the drug companies are trying to suggest diseases for people to have.

It's not a real lion. It's just a windup lion. I don't like it, it's troubling to me. The way that it barks. It doesn't roar. It's not a real line. Why would the people find it amusing see it as a virtue when it's cheepness and chintzze is off with a rinse hosing down the willing. somebody else maybe they think it's assault all that caked mud suddenly flowing again joyous clean of angels singing dark duty, scrub a dub dub it's not a real lion at all hose it down clean it off they love it too much when that mud flows it's the death of too many off with the top of it.

Do it again: words and lyrics by Brian and Mike They'll be no Mike Love bashing on my website . . . dang tartting. Do it again is one of the most amazing of songs for very many reasons, from the performance of it, or it's conception as a dew-waup rock song. And the performance by The Brother's Band, and how it plays live, in concernt, how it sounds Amazing. Such a masterpiece. The music draws one into the mood of group dancing.

Those kids in Missouri weren't protesting, they were having a temper tantrum. We'll listen to what you have to say if it's something real. Other than that we don't understand why you have to keep repeating yourself.
Oh, those crazy kids . . . We send them to college and hope that they grow up. Sometimes they get lost in the conformity of false fellowship. Yes, protests are a wonderful right. But the fact is that a trantrum is not a protest but a social rave.
I'm not against raves. And I don't mind a little cage fight if it's done safely. and no one gets hurt. Ya, right. But really, I'm not a fan of the blood sports. As far as protests go? Sometimes, in our modern age, they are necessary. They ought not turn into blood sport, or inserection.
But these kids in the petri dish of college who think that they are part of some new and starling revolution of thought and action, are often enthralled by poison mentors. The students who are most conformist perhaps are the ones most susceptible the the charms of an angry pitbull adjunct adgitater. Often there is a claim to some kind of radicalism. Well, radical used to mean different and startling. Now it seems to be a synonym for reactionary and excitible bully. This is not something that is good for a resume. Tagging someone as a radical or a Marxist is not a nice thing to do to them. It's not a fun thing to be tagged as that kind.
Hopefully it's just a crazy-Spring kind of phase for them, and the person grows past it. It's not that radical ideas are often wonderful, but the addiction to heroism and the urge to 'change the world' before you even know anything about it, and you are really just play the rube for some professor doing a Social Science experiment and trying to influence the Politics of the students in their charge.
You will come to loath your poison mentors. It might take 20 or 30 years, but eventually you will see it. After that you need to forgive them for your own sack if you had come under their spells, or adhered to the curses that they showered upon you (calling it effective procedure and guidance to effect change).
You will see how they have played you, got you to lash out at strangers. You will understand how the injustice that they claimed was actually just their imagination. It isn't that there isn't real injustice, it just that not everything that everyone does is that.
And as for real injustice? There is still so much of it. But you are blind, race baiters, blind. The same bad stuff that happens to a Black person happens to everyone. The same kind of loathing, the same kind of hurt and sarrow and feelings of helplessness. We are all the same and it's a privledge to be alive in the world and please stop blaming people who you don't know and never met. We didn't object when your parents generation were put in line in front of us. If they didn't do well by you, if they raised you in a gettho, what was the real reason for that? What was the real reason?
Drugs? Alchohol? Human Vice? None of this is specific or limited to Blacks. And do you think that non Blacks don't feel just as sad about hearing about a Black kid getting gunned down as any other? If you claim this isn't true, that people are still like they were fifty years ago, you are just not paying attention. Stuff that should have been left buried in the past, the resntements from the 1930's and 1940's, when the whole world was under the cloud, are dredged back up and projected upon a new generation, a gerneation that never did any of those things.
Oh, and by the way, careful if when you 'fight for justice' that it doesn't just end up being a case of common assault and battery. When you are girded with the rethoric of battle, and nose flaring hateful jingo, and not listening but reciting hateful chanting of mocking and derision, intimindation and dominance, that is not a protest but a tantrum!
If you can't be civil in a free-speach 'safe zone' then where can you be civil? If you need a 'Blacks only safe space' to get over the 'micro agressions' of other 'races', well then, you probably can't get past your anger and loathing and resentment against Whites and others.
And is it because you are Black? No. It's because you are a hormonal kid whose listening to poison mentors who, instead of telling you to see the good in others, and look past the race, meanwhile not being ignorant of it, but proud of who you are. And proud of who they are. And proud of God for putting you in the world together so that you can get to know each other and work together and do great things. So Praise the Lord for that! That is the kind of stuff that a good mentor will tell you: see the commonality and celebrate teh differences. Love people.
As far as the new jingo of 'micro agression' and other ad hominem nonsense phrases that make concise some powerful fallacy, get over it. When you are being an agressive jerk you get like with like. What they call 'micro agreesion' some of us might call 'snark'.
If you behave as a bully of course others are going to call you on your foolery. Some might see showing up to protest with just jingo and conformism as mocking the causes of social justice. With so many important one might expect that the protestors would have had important things to say. I can almost give a direct quote by one of the 'protestors' who was badgering the photographer, who was also a journalism student at that same college, at the 'safe zone' debacle, with the poison mentor angry-woman professora (who called for 'muscle'):
"looks like you lost this one. looks like you lost this one. looks like you lost this one. looks like you lost this one. looks like you lost this one. looks like you lost this one. looks like you lost this one. looks like you lost this one. looks like you lost this one. looks like you lost this one."
We get words of intimidation instead of erudite expressive discourse and good ideas. The guy seems to be a master bully, boaster, and intimidator. He had a minute of fame where a lot of people could hear his words and that is how he wasted it.
But he's young. He can change. His life isn't over. Nor should it be ruined by his interlude of bullying. He can learn to not be that way.
That's why he's at school, to learn things? Right? Clearly he has a lot to learn.
And if he asked me, what should he learn?
Learn kindness. Learn tollerance. Learn nonviolence not just in the physcical world but also in the world of ideas. Learn respect. Learn how to love. Learn how to get past the fallacies of race, and learn to work within the world of those who can not without being a bully towards them. Some people can't get over it, and they go on with it. You don't have to call them out for every time they act out. They have their own issues and you just make it worse by demanding sainted behavior from them. Also, and this might be the most important part: don't just trust these mentors and professoras. Stop with all the Marxist conformity. Question Authority but accept that authority that is legitimate. And the questioning of authority doesn't happen when someone is on duty, so don't question the authority of a cop without also following that officer's direction, that authority (they are doing their jobs, a very hard job by the way and very dangerous so you can be safe in whatever zone you are in).
And if you need to confront anyone, and demand an explanation, choose someone like the poison mentor professora. But my recommendation? Leave her alone. She has a lot of work to do on her own sould, being someone to direct students to misbehave so very badly. There must have been bad things in her childhood to make her so bitter and delusional about the world to create a combat situation within a free speach zone.
Some people never get over the fallacies and delusions which get farmed by poison mentors, and fall into hateful patterns of blame. From this they create mythologies of hurt and grievance that never ends. It's cold world in their tiny space. And they make you responsibile in their explanation. It's all smack talk. And they claim to be shivvering within the tyranny of you, you breath and polute the world. Everyone else is a villian and they are sure about it. It's you who make their space so frigid.
And you can never shovel enough coal into that furnace to heat their house up as hot as they want it and if you could they'd leave the doors and windows open wide, just to spite you . And then blame you for global warming and demand that you count every carbon atom that you ever exhale and pay a tax to them for scholarships for kids who think and act and spit just like they do.
One final note: stop being so angry. You really are quite a privledged generation. And, yes, college is too expensive.

at the coffee shop

it wasn't because she wanted to talk
we did enough of that

At the coffee shop

where she had
fallen

where she had
fallen
in love
And I didn't know

and I couldn't tell
in anyone
knew her
or was she just a blur?
didn't cause a stir
At the coffee shop
she made me stop
at a highway side

from near to far
at the coffee shop

At the coffee shop

He got away

And I dropped her off

you raise me up from far away when a memory of you lifts me!
Somethings never change nothing need stay the same ah, but on a website the constant change is kind-of the point . . .
change without continuity and tradition is often very hard to manage for those thrust into it. And thus the frame of things gives a place for the change to happen. If you violate that idea then you are coming up with something completely different and maybe no one will want to see your new idea, or use your great, new venue, because it's too far out, and very far away from what they currently care about. It's a nether or a meta and it's merely for a lark? Or does it become the next big thing? As fun as graphics are (CGI) and animation, and making a world to fly around in (like minetest, which is easy when you learn how) ultimately such a meta is a hollow place. It's a distraction during the season of gaming. It allows one to brush up on geometry and math, and architectural design, it gives people training in computer languages, it allows someone to make some graphical ideas, and pass a few hours of time every few days or so . . .
To live within such a realm really isn't possible.

Ya, I decided to load Fedora Core 38 Beta about a month ago, and this machine kept shutting down . . . I think I finally fixed it. Tomorrow is the big release day for the Fedora Core 38. My production workstation is still running FC37. I don't know if I'll jump right on it right away. . .
my server is still resetting, or maybe I have it fixed. I decided to just remove plasma-desktop, as I don't use it. The journals were giving all kinds of errors with that, and I think that might have been the issue, conflicting with the gdm that I do use. Worst case I'd just go to runlevel 3 but, as I said in another column, I don't really even know if anyone views these pages anyway.
My production box would upgrade but the dnf says it would downgrade grum and associated tools, and that's never a good thing to do. I'm just not going to do it! anyway I'll check tomorrow when the offical release is and probably do it then. If I'm in the mood.
So now I've run every version of Fedora serving this website! that's a long time.
April 17, 2023 8:28 PM ESThere is from a year ago:
It took some time to figure out how to defeat the new screensaver built in, but I was able to. It's the biggest downside to the new Gnome.
I set the keybindings to something I don't use, and then put in a custom keybinding to use the old tool.
There are other minor things that annoy too, like the restoration of a deleted file that I always have to delete again on every FC core upgrade. The file is name camera-shutte.oga. It's in /usr/share/sounds/freedesktop/stereo
1:12 AM EST 9 April, 2022
At the precipice of coding.
a mountain trail often has a place with a great view and a perilous fall if you wonder just a bit too far to one side of the trail. It's called a precipice. It's not a scary place. It's a safe place that one passes through.
OK, so I've done an update to FC34.
the biggest issue was . . . . drum roll . . .a lock up of gnome.
and if i clicked on the activities button I would need to reload (log out log back in).
I was able to run stuff without that, and thus determined a list of files that might need to be removed. I did as full reinstall of gnome as such:
dnf reinstall gnome
then I did a
dnf list installed |grep fc33
which gave me a list of files to consider uninstalling.
from that I got the following:
first odd issue:
sudo was not at first working! I had to install it! I kept the configuration file so I have my preferences still set up.
dnf install sudo dnf reinstall gnome-* dnf reinstall kde* dnf reinstall NetworkManager* dnf remove gnome-screensaver dnf remove gnome-shell-extension-desktop-icons-20.04.0-2.fc33.noarch dnf remove xorg-x11-xkb-extras-7.7-33.fc33.x86_64 dnf remove compat-openssl10-1:1.0.2o-11.fc33.x86_64 dnf remove mozjs60-60.9.0-7.fc33.x86_64
there are still some fc33 packages, (I also looked for fc32 packages, anything older that was gnome)
sudo dnf list installed |grep fc33 biber.noarch 2.14-4.fc33 @fedora gamin.x86_64 0.1.10-37.fc33 @fedora libgta.x86_64 1.0.9-5.fc33 @fedora
if removing a package also removed large numbers of other packages, I left it. For each of the few that I did remove, I always would make sure by reading what would happen before agreeing to the transaction.
now the gnome-shell is working and it doesn't lock up. So which of the packages that I removed made the difference? I am not sure.
and so after just a few short hours of install, I've got my system working in away that seems normal.
the new gnome shell moves the icons to the bottom of the screen.
I find gnome-shell to be annoyingly poppy at times. I tend to do things rapidly, and all the popping can be nauseating.
It is helpful to learn how to use dnf. I've found that the reverse history stuff works as long as you haven't made too many changes. It's a dicey, though, to try and go back to an older revision but I did it ONCE. Next time it didn't work out so well. AT that point it was installing dnf and yum from rpms.
and I had success. It's the kind of thing that when you know how to do it . . .
but there was one other trick that I needed and it was a scary way to reset a password and I did discover how to do it. I'm not sharing that one (barely remember) it's like these things exist in a nether, and it's best to . . . let the knowledge fade unless you need it. It's too scary to dwell in that space.
anyway, gnome shell is working. It's not flighty and hanging up. And all it took was to remove the old packages of gnome that might conflict with it. And now I can continue with my review.
