Political and Media Inanity

Nothing is free in life. Taking favors means that favors must be repaid. If you take a loan you have to pay it back. Jubilee. Vulture Capital. Argentina.

The problem with the 'Argentina is a deadbeat' argument is that the people who are demanding repayment are asking for a profit that exceeds what some would consider a fair return. Some monies are more special than others. One wonders why these notes aren't written in such a way that the value at purchase for any holder is a ceiling and there can only be a canopy above the ceiling that is allowed for their profit. So, if the terms of the note are say 'such and such interest' for monies paid for this note then the note would sponser a profit for the buyer but that profit would be capped at the stake length. And so it is not just stake holder but stake length.

The people who purchase commodities or bonds at very low prices should expect that their investments should be paid back but . . . don't the debt payers also have rights? In the case of a judge in NY dealing harsh with the corrupt government of Argentina ( I could collect some sources for you to explain my position, but I don't like to beat a dead horse). I have to say that a crooked Marxist who has the spirit of charity can be a blessing for the population. Such a person steals as much as he/she can and showers benificence down through the organizations. It's a wonder to behold the sudden properity. but . . . the problem is that this is often a precursor to the slavery of country endebtedness. Hence Argentina. Where monies barrowed are stolen and not paid back. It has happened over and over. Where did the money go?

We don't know. To pay for this and that. A chalet here, a boat house there. Some soccor fields, a sport's stadium. Boats and gas for the boats. Sweeping the beach of dead things to keep the tourists from complaining. Some nice off-road vehicles and pay for the mechanics to fix them. Sports equipment, skis, skiing accessories. Titanium framed mountain bike. College at Harvard for the well connected.

And so, in lieu of not being able to track who stole the money that the Argentinians borrowed, then . . . well then we need to put a canopy over the stake of the vulture capitalists and cap their profits to be a fair percentage of whatever portion that they put in. And by 'fair' I mean proportioned correctly so that teh monies that tehy put in have the same kind of profit potential as what all of the other stake holders carry. And thus this would prevent the vultures from vulturing. That way they would not be able to dump into a fund because they would get the loss that the rest of the holders would have.

Cholera prevention. New sewer systems. New aquaduct. Improved water quality. New Schools. Hospitals. Roadways. Bridges. Power plants. Boardwalk. Commercial docks. Tourist Peir. Roller Coaster. Intercoastal buoys and channel dredging.

The assumption that politicians stole the money is the assumption that may be incorrect. If the monies were used for the public good, and not stolen, then, well, the citizens of Argentina, and anyone who goes there, also benefit. In that case it harms Argentina to have to meet the demands of people who are looking for obscene profit at the expense of all the rest of the bond holders. One judge in New York should not be the single point of arbitration. How did such an arbitrary person get so much power over a whole nation? A foreign nation? Isn't it the office of the President that is supposed to conduct foreign policy? Isn't this kind of a foreign policy thing?

Obviously I am just musing in a blog and I don't have the real answers to these questions about the authority of some judge in NY over the nation of Argentina. Also I understand that they will never do an honest audit that the public could breeze through on a rainy Tuesday to acess as to where the monies that were lent to the Argentinan government got spent. The monies are gone and long gone. Pay it back? Plus, those monies were used to buy things that gave people profits so we don't even know if these profits were then used to put into vulture funds to then go and buy the dept that was the source of the monies where the profits came from in the first place. See how deep and hard to understand auditing can become. A crooked endevour to acess blame on the people of Argentina for the theiving of a few: theiving, which I pointed out earlier, which is just an accustion wihtout any truth that we can add to it other than to say that it seems that a lot of people think that way, just based upoin comments that you can easily read at http://en.mercopress.com/ in any of the articles about this topic.

And so the solution for Argentina? Take the consequences for their mistakes of the past. Hold the cleptocrats to account, if there are any. Appeal to the idea that a single judge shouldn't have so much power? That probably won't work in NY.

Pay up? But only so much above the stake that the parties put in.
