When everyone is wondering, the roads are jammed.

That May wind is shaking those blooming buds again.
Soon the tree will be bare of them and then
the street will have their confetti upon it
the rain will wash a stream along it
of pastel and white of petals in sight
along the walks and the yards
and the tree-line boulivards.


Rough winds to Shakespeare
He shooke his darling buddies
players on a stage
 shake the stage
display the rage
stab at a cutain 
with a knife
body falls out!

 If you delete a cute
  trite poem
 is it ever really gone?
 If no one ever read it
    was it ever really 'wrong'?
  and who gets to say?
     and why are they the kings
                   anyway?

  With the hard rain yesterday
     the streets were dark with wet
 on the hills
      on the north slopes
    in the shadows
   even till this morning.

     Slides sideways going too fast
           he didn't take the warning
       "slow down. Slow down."

   But when he's manic
   he's always in a panic
   of ecstatic bliss
    hit or miss 
      he might even get laid.

She had a sense of loss then
the poems had become inane, and
she hadn't gotten her package.
Where could it be? Oh where oh where.
If she could have planned a trip to a park
like they used to do in the old days
take a lunch
it'd be 1965 in her mind
and the concept of 'junkie works'
or
'hypodermic'
wouldn't hvae yet been formed in her mind
just her
and the sun drenched street,
no bugs
no flies
no one asking for quarters
which she never carries anymore she
looks from the window
how did she get so way deep and down and urbane?
now was she doubting if she were insane?
what about the constant rain?

Last night
with the constant rain
all of hte things that had been bothering her
became clear again
the answers
the sound of the radiator
a drip from through the window on her mantle
sudden lightening
the power went out.
It was always 1965 in her mind then
back at the urban park
grandmas with the baby carraiages
umbrella's in the rain.

It's morning now.
Bright sunlight.
She's going back to that park just to see what it's like now
if it's still all junkies.
But this time 
she remembers to bring a roll of quarters
and if they ask she gives them each one
then they watch out for her
because they can tell
that she is crushed with grief
and not in her right mind.

After that she
had no concept of junkies, no one was really.

When the day was over
she still had enough quarters for the buss
but the bus doesn't take quarters
so she put in a five dollar bill and it added the rest
 on to her card.
