And did he ever even get to that part about 'helmet safety' and that the guy in the photo wasn't wearing one?
Oh, no, yet another topic for the echo factory to pretend that people care about and repeat over and over.
this is a lot more fun than wading in through the chan spam.

Did you ever make someone's day by just being a little groggy when they call you for a job? The kid's 21 and I looked him up online and found out he's an intern. What a thing is that some kid calling me because of this poem-page web-blog, a complete and utter website of perposterousity and new words. If you had the add-ons and I could watch where you were reading on a screen I'd have an application that would melt the screen in some patented way as a litterary effect. So when you are reading the part about people on mushrooms the screen would start swirling. You'd, of course, have the chair and monitor add-ons (your a cutting edge citizen of the Internet). Maybe you're strapped into your flight simulator (you live and work in The Virtual World). The Virtual World becomes the real world. The medium is the message. Anyone who takes pictures can only talk about cameras and lenses. Anyone who writes in a newspaper . . . (well they are out of a job, I guess) can only talk about print media 'the press'. Well they are very pressed, now, aren't they? The method of control by blizzards of paper onto which are printed assorted truths and lies (and no obvious method for a neophyte to ascertain which are which) is obsoleted by The Internet and the Poetry-Blog-snot rant page (fully protected by LIBERTY). Treat that you blog-snot waanna-bees. When I started these ranticules cubicles (the 'common content entity') it merely allowed me to have mulitiplicity of presentation of many various forms and formats (all at the same time) with serialized content entities and common content containers and programmable discrete website interface (all of my design). I've got the stuff, their, blokes. All you website wanna-bes? You gotta have something to say. You have to have a way to put it forward for the people to read. Some kid who goes to Yale calls me like he has a job for me because of my blog-snot-rants and you tell me that this is a waste of time? I'm reaching folks and hopefully ripping open a hole in the curtain into which they've been woven. It's a valid activity to try and pry open the bolted close crypt into which they try to skully-wag and bone (up the . . . ) these young impresionables. The fact of sleep deprivation. The fact of the need to do too much work. The fact of the polemic of don't dare say an opinion of your own. All of this - - - training for the young initiate. And is there a time when the put the worm up to their ear? I've never seen it. It's the poison that gets poured into an ear. When folks are young they are driven by hormones. They have a priority to fight and fornicate. So it is. That's just a fact, jack. And so we let them vote at 18 when they are still very much juveniles. They vote at 18. They vote based upon 'feelings' sleep deprived, group think stuff, joined a group to effect change. They don't know how to schedule their time. They don't know how to cook for themselves. But they vote. OK. I know it isn't true what I write above. There are plenty of very responsible 18 year olds out there. They already have kids. They know how to cook for 4. They run a house. They take care of their elders. Yes, there are these people. But I bet very very few in the Ivy Leauge. I say anti-trust the Ivy League. Anti-trust the power-elite. But it is just talk. It's really a very scarey idea. What would we then have? If we kill our own power-plant, the way that we let things flow out to the world, what new way of power will arrise? Outlaws? The real revolution is private and personal. It must become from within the mind of yourself. It should not be imposed upon others. There is a necessary realignment of power that will occur. It will happen in gradual ways. It's not that we need to do all of this right now. That is foolish and wreakless. The folks that like to 'effect change' that are over the age of 25 are most likely on the inside of some scheme that wants to profit from the change. For example, as an exercise, could a student of 'change' make a list of the things that would profit various (un named) entities by the various 'effective changes' that are foisted upon an unsuspecting public? I used to read The Harvard Business Review when I worked for the Air Force. I just put myself on the list so that when the other guys were done, ie the CEO of my division, Neil Stark, I would get the magazine. And then I would thumb through it. It was never anything that you could read through all of the way. The thing was like 300 pages every month. But what they did have were these 'scenarios' where they would run down various ways that 'situations' can play out. So a company would be presented, a fictional company, with a list of 'as ifs' and then a very well thought out discussion about the consequences of various types of behavior. We are thought in a good school to be able to make up these scenarios. But they do not teach us a moral way to use them. The ethics part of it is required for some things. But the codes that are suggested are often not followed. And then we ahve whole schools dedicated to 'government' run by folks that have no natural ability to lead or do anything other than win a popularity contest. When all of these high officials get together and they concoct a narative that . . . explains some 'consequence' of some action that 'if not taken' will result in some kind of horrid and deplorable 'imagining of a dreaded future.' It's called 'scare-mongering' and the folks who do this are known as 'scare-mongerers'. They don't, of course, call themselves that. The problem we have now as a society is that those of us who are not on the inside of the global-arlarmist agenda have discovered that this is the case. WE know that there are monied-sots who fund malingerer causes: causes that result in accounting practices being applied in places where they have not traditionally been applied previously. The want to count cow flatulenze. They want you to pay for every Carbon Dioxide molecule. So we've exposed the fraud and now we have not yet thrown out the government that ate the lies hook-line-and-sinker. All for donations to their dubious web of phoney charities that live and fester within the otherwise laudible field of 'non-profits'. And we are discouraged from trying to figure out who weaved all of these lies into this elaborate fantasy of the global alarmists. It doesn't matter if you prove or disprove anything. As soon as you debunk some junk science that the asleep-at-the-trouth crowd are worshiping (at the behest of 'funders') they will come up with something else. So if it isn't that an asteroid is going to come (according to them) and destroy civilization, so fund space research; then it's that SARS is going to kill everyone and everyone needs to by higene products of particular type; or how about war with [some country] must happen because if it doesn't then they will develop [some technology that has already been invented elsewhere] and this will be bad for the cause of [some group of religious nationalists]. And the result is always 'so let us do what is otherwise absurd'. Anyone who studies formal logic and philosopy see the non-sequetor nature of these kinds of arguments. For example it seems that the weak-minds of chattering class of political-powermad always have the following kind of arguement (not for everything, they are not wrong about everything): [some horrible thing] so [more power for the federal beaurocracy]. or [some moral failing of elected people] so [shirking of the responsiblity of elected officials to a quasi-governmental agency] So what is the solution? Get in volved. Speak up. Let your outrage be voiced. adhere to principles of non-violence. Shout love at haters. "You will over come your political hate. You will have success for the causes that you believe in that have actual merit and virtue. you will overcome your lusts for change. You will respect the things that are established that work and the standards that our elders have devised. You will not just effect change for the hell of it. You will be a moral person." Are we up for the task? So go out there, folks, and change yourself! WP July 1, 2010 The thoughts expressed above are spontaneous and unedited. They may, in fact, need an editing. If you are offended by anything that I have said above, then good thing you still have the capacity to feel. It means you aren't really a reptile like some people might say of you. LOLSolstice Sunset

Greetings from tree shaded yard!
Praise The Lord for insight given!
as an example . . . I have tried to do some introspective things as I come into awareness of my own flaws, and recognize the way I act and correct my self and make a better narrative for myself and for others.
you raise me up from far away when a memory of you lifts me!
Somethings never change nothing need stay the same ah, but on a website the constant change is kind-of the point . . .
change without continuity and tradition is often very hard to manage for those thrust into it. And thus the frame of things gives a place for the change to happen. If you violate that idea then you are coming up with something completely different and maybe no one will want to see your new idea, or use your great, new venue, because it's too far out, and very far away from what they currently care about. It's a nether or a meta and it's merely for a lark? Or does it become the next big thing? As fun as graphics are (CGI) and animation, and making a world to fly around in (like minetest, which is easy when you learn how) ultimately such a meta is a hollow place. It's a distraction during the season of gaming. It allows one to brush up on geometry and math, and architectural design, it gives people training in computer languages, it allows someone to make some graphical ideas, and pass a few hours of time every few days or so . . .
To live within such a realm really isn't possible.

After 40 different versions what can one say about it anymore? It's installed in all my systems, a day earlier. There are a few minor issues, but no show stoppers.
I did some stuff with lvm to resize a root area. That took a very long time. It's on a machine that maybe just should be retired . . .

Ya, I decided to load Fedora Core 38 Beta about a month ago, and this machine kept shutting down . . . I think I finally fixed it. Tomorrow is the big release day for the Fedora Core 38. My production workstation is still running FC37. I don't know if I'll jump right on it right away. . .
my server is still resetting, or maybe I have it fixed. I decided to just remove plasma-desktop, as I don't use it. The journals were giving all kinds of errors with that, and I think that might have been the issue, conflicting with the gdm that I do use. Worst case I'd just go to runlevel 3 but, as I said in another column, I don't really even know if anyone views these pages anyway.
My production box would upgrade but the dnf says it would downgrade grum and associated tools, and that's never a good thing to do. I'm just not going to do it! anyway I'll check tomorrow when the offical release is and probably do it then. If I'm in the mood.
So now I've run every version of Fedora serving this website! that's a long time.
April 17, 2023 8:28 PM ESThere is from a year ago:
It took some time to figure out how to defeat the new screensaver built in, but I was able to. It's the biggest downside to the new Gnome.
I set the keybindings to something I don't use, and then put in a custom keybinding to use the old tool.
There are other minor things that annoy too, like the restoration of a deleted file that I always have to delete again on every FC core upgrade. The file is name camera-shutte.oga. It's in /usr/share/sounds/freedesktop/stereo

At the precipice of coding.
a mountain trail often has a place with a great view and a perilous fall if you wonder just a bit too far to one side of the trail. It's called a precipice. It's not a scary place. It's a safe place that one passes through.
OK, so I've done an update to FC34.
the biggest issue was . . . . drum roll . . .a lock up of gnome.
and if i clicked on the activities button I would need to reload (log out log back in).
I was able to run stuff without that, and thus determined a list of files that might need to be removed. I did as full reinstall of gnome as such:
dnf reinstall gnome
then I did a
dnf list installed |grep fc33
which gave me a list of files to consider uninstalling.
from that I got the following:
first odd issue:
sudo was not at first working! I had to install it! I kept the configuration file so I have my preferences still set up.
dnf install sudo dnf reinstall gnome-* dnf reinstall kde* dnf reinstall NetworkManager* dnf remove gnome-screensaver dnf remove gnome-shell-extension-desktop-icons-20.04.0-2.fc33.noarch dnf remove xorg-x11-xkb-extras-7.7-33.fc33.x86_64 dnf remove compat-openssl10-1:1.0.2o-11.fc33.x86_64 dnf remove mozjs60-60.9.0-7.fc33.x86_64
there are still some fc33 packages, (I also looked for fc32 packages, anything older that was gnome)
sudo dnf list installed |grep fc33 biber.noarch 2.14-4.fc33 @fedora gamin.x86_64 0.1.10-37.fc33 @fedora libgta.x86_64 1.0.9-5.fc33 @fedora
if removing a package also removed large numbers of other packages, I left it. For each of the few that I did remove, I always would make sure by reading what would happen before agreeing to the transaction.
now the gnome-shell is working and it doesn't lock up. So which of the packages that I removed made the difference? I am not sure.
and so after just a few short hours of install, I've got my system working in away that seems normal.
the new gnome shell moves the icons to the bottom of the screen.
I find gnome-shell to be annoyingly poppy at times. I tend to do things rapidly, and all the popping can be nauseating.
It is helpful to learn how to use dnf. I've found that the reverse history stuff works as long as you haven't made too many changes. It's a dicey, though, to try and go back to an older revision but I did it ONCE. Next time it didn't work out so well. AT that point it was installing dnf and yum from rpms.
and I had success. It's the kind of thing that when you know how to do it . . .
but there was one other trick that I needed and it was a scary way to reset a password and I did discover how to do it. I'm not sharing that one (barely remember) it's like these things exist in a nether, and it's best to . . . let the knowledge fade unless you need it. It's too scary to dwell in that space.
anyway, gnome shell is working. It's not flighty and hanging up. And all it took was to remove the old packages of gnome that might conflict with it. And now I can continue with my review.
