Prince has passed on

Purple rain. Prince, the master showman has died from compications of the flu, TMZ reports.

Very sad day for people my age. The girls LOOOVVEDD him, and he was able to compose and perform.

No one lives forever, despite what some might promise from 'virtualization'. When does a process end? when people bore of it? When is the last time a video game is played? When the game console breaks?

Maybe it is a tribute to our narcissicism (did I spell that right?) that we get so worked up about people we never knew, or is it just a nostolgia? Or is it the sense of sadness that even if we don't feel it ourself in a big way, we know that some people, the more empathetic amoung us, do feel it.

Rest in peace, artist formally known as living and performing, very recently performing. So sad . . .
