These guys gave a great show!

Brian has some new links to some awesome new videos of his band. In particular there is a produced music video for the tune "The Island." This video presents a cute story for the lyrics of the song. As well it gives a lot of very awesome tribute graphics to The Beach Boys, and to old albums associated with Brian. It's a well produced piece and, as well, has parts that give tribute to other businesses associated with the greater Hawthorne area. There is surfing. There is a mermaid doll (that looks very much like that kind of doll associated with the company that is large in Hawthorne that makes toys). Very cool.

In the genre of music that you play when your partying at a bar on vacation, The Island gives us lyrics that explain what goes on during this island vacation. Well, "There's really nothing to do." and "There's really no where to go." Maybe the space aliens (you have to see the video, when you just hear the song you don't imagine a young couple crashing from a space ship) should have booked at room at Kokomo. This island is not Key West. But they do have mail. And they must have beautifully colored designer guauges because the graphics in the video are luscious. Cudos to Brian for hiring some talented people and paying tribute to the fallen by the wayside art of the postcard!

OK, so here it is: I'm ticketed for the show in South Boston. I'm also wondering if Brian will somehow be involved with a free concert at the esplanade. Last year was a wash out. His cousin's band was there but the show was canceled the next day because of a very bad storm. Which the correct thing to do. I did watch the Beach Boys perform (the Mike Love, without Brian or Al in band). They were good. Brian's band is really awesome and I made a point of going to see them last year because, well, if you want to see the great man you have to go and see the great man. Patron of the arts. Why not live your life, and stop preventing yourself from experiencing the highest quality music: when you go to hear Brian's band, let me tell you they do a very awesome job of performing Brian's exceptional and complex compositions. It's a rocking show! They are a world class band. Mike and the Beach Boys are too, so go see them if you can't go to see Brian's band. But if you can only go to see one . . . my suggestion: go to Brian's band.

Getting tickets is easy. He's doing a show in May (less than two weeks from now) in New Jersey and there are still good seats available. I don't think I'll get down to New Brunswick to see them. But last I looked there are still a lot of seats available in a reasonable venue where no matter where you sit you'll hear good sound (that's a given at a Brian Wilson concert: great sound!).

Alright, enough of my fan boy ways.
