Unexpected Appletree

The trees rot when they get old, sometimes, due to inscets and wood peckers. A tree can be hollow, and not quite dead, and it will still bloom and be beautiful. An old tree comes from an old root. Sometimes someone cuts down a bit old tree, that'd been there for generations. They cut it to the root. But the root is still there in the ground, spreading out. So when the tree is gone the root needs the light and it sends up stocks to get it. and that's how a great big 25 foot tall natural apple tree gets it start. And it's not going to make apples for me, unless I graft known varieties to the branches. I suspect, through my description inplies it, that the tree didn't come from seed. It's was such a sudden and unexpected addition to the landscape, after the other tree had been cut to the root, I was like 'that's what happens in this world, pepole move in, they don't understand what kind of tree it is, they say 'we need light' not realizing how awesome such a tree can be, a real home for so much of what the forest needs to having living it in.

So now we'll have a new tree. And it's already blooming, just at the top of it!

wood harvast

One year someone, in New Hampshire, harvasted a swath of mountainside up to a point not too far up , and far enough up that it was out of the travelled way. So yo needed to know how to have access to get up there. We were up there the folloing year and already the part that was cut down had new trees growing from the roots of the old trees, all of them well on their way to quickly become full sized trees.

Contrast that with what they do in the Northwest: they have a multiacre swath of country side and they plant it, and harvast it in subsequent years, and they'll be a sign saying when it was planted, when it was harvasted, going back 100 years when I saw it.

What works? what should the people do? Is the way that they do it in Washington State really that bad?

Well, so, ya. Go to Mt. Saint Hellens if you get the chance to ponder the meaning of a forest, cut down, suddenly, and without warning. So the scheduled cut down is probably prefered to the sudden natural destruction. You turned a corner in the forest road and from then on for a few miles the landscape is barron with just the roots of trees. And they left the dead trees in Spirit Lake as some kind of strange long term eccology project instead of harvasting it and maybe using it to build 20 thousand new homes (which would have made sense). So ecology isn't always what seems smart or right? I try to not make a conclusion by casting the idea into a question, knowing that any answer is baited. Is that fair? See, I'm doing it again.

Spring is full swing!

flowers, grass, red maples showering down their tiny blossoms.

The World get Pretty!

The world gets beautiful in the Spring!

Praise the Lord!

Praise the Lord

for his unfailing love!

Tell us
how
you really feel

a running headline:

Trump continues to win bigly!

why is philadelphia calling
all the failure, all the pain
the people who were better forgotten
and I don't remember their names?

what reason to reach for a memory
something imagined and soon gone?
to linger in the sad facts of that decay
that went on for far too long (lawn?)

what reason to save a file
in which it would be stored a poem?
knowing that no one will read it
when they find you at home alone?

蠱 work on what has been spoiled

A new year and I'm still stuck in an antique and hunkered in mindset, not believeing in the so-called job markets, and feeling off-to-the-side. No matter. I'm surviving.
