Most Things in the Public Sphere are not broken and do not need fixing.
A Message for France Burning it all down doesn't fix it. So stop, stop all the riots and go back to your homes.Cliffs at Yosemite
El Capitan is not broken and does not need to be fixed. Fortunatly they can not be burned down. The trees, however, could be.Burned Trees at Yosemite
Maintaining Political Decorum is as important as maintaining National Monuments. Ordered and non-violent politics is, in fact, our greatest National Monument.Political Politeness Is our Greatest National Monument
OK, this is jingoisitic and maybe just a little bit trite. Also many could argue that when being oppressed politeness is for fools. People who might make such an argument would, perhaps, already be angry and feel 'disenfranchised', so a polite discussion might be better held till after they are fed and let to rest and given proper concern in a non-condescending way.disen-France-chised
People give you, sometimes, what they think you expect from them. If you expect a worse case from them they may present an additude as follows: 'I see how you think I am horrible. How could you think such hard thoughts about me? So I will give you what you expect and be even worse than you imagine just to spite you.' When people become truclent and impolite in politics ugly things can happen. But this rule also works in the other direction. If you see how folks can be pleasant, happy, forward thinking, forgiving, virtuous, then they will surprise you and be even more so. They will want to be this way becuase that is the way that Natural Law directs us to be: our inner consciousness will guide us to behavior that augments and builds-up the people around us, gives them the respect that they deserve and let's them reflect it back at us. We make a better world by not expecting worst case behaviors. Expect people to be stand-up and philanthropic. Expect them to be a posative force for the good things that are status quo. And those things that need to be improved, let the people do the work joyfully! There are no real Ghouls
And this is true even in politics
We allow halloween displays as a public display of seasonal concerns converted into non-threatening presentations of common fears from popular culture. The thing that one is afraid of but does not, in fact, exist is called a 'boogie'. Boogieman: a ghoul or otherwise scarey creature who haunts and hunts his prey. Boogiemen do not, in fact, exist.
