Politics for Poets

So DC has problems. And they need to be fixed without a total collapse of authority. And there needs to be a . . . national, and possibly international, reckoning about the . . . sex trade in politics. Also that it's not just power 'men' who are creeps and serial harassers. It can be women and people of unknown gender who are like that too. So don't pretend that it is just men. Any creature with power over another could possibly become sick-minded and abuse authority. It's not just men. It could be any creature at all, any intelligent creature.

So we need to not be that way. And we need to stop doing it. What we should not do is totally ruin the lives of anyone who is found out to have at some point displayed the subhumating creep tendency of abusing people who need a job or mentoring, or employees. Those people should be taken out their positions of authority, but we can't just lock stock and barrel throw them all in prison or take away their rights or just throw them out of office because, well, if threw them all out of office, what would be the percentage that we would need to 'throw-out of office, what percentage of lawyers, judges, legislators, CEOs, CFOs, HR heads, and chairs of charities, corporations or governance? How many would be left? Assuming that sexual-devience blackmailing has been a culture of a certain cretin set of political operatives (for hundreds and hundreds of years), we all kind of know that anyone in power long enough is probably susceptible to some kind of blackmail. Even the best of them. And most of the ones who can be blackmailed it would be better for everyone if they were not. And it ought to be that sins are forgiven as long as appropriate steps are taken. And if we forgive as we would be forgiven, that doesn't mean that we give a pass to creep behaviors.
