Politics for Poets

politics of the here and now

Trump, week one, Wednesday Afternoon

Illegal tweet?

Did someone get fired for sending out climate alarmist tweet, against direct orders not to use such services during a temporary ban on using various private messaging services for government use?

I always thought that government should not have used Twitter, because it gave a lot of equity away to private people. But I wasn't making policy. If I had been at the time I would have demnaded a different platform for use by departments and agencies of government, in the say that we have a different computer at work which the government owns (if it's a government office) and we never ever ever do any of our own work on it. Strict rule, it should be.

No surfing for stuff, no drawing and writing novels. Nothing.

so . . . all that being said I ain't no saint, and I can forgive someone an angry tweet. So what happened to the NPS employee who sent out a tweet after the ban? What happens and how it goes down, will tell a valuable lesson, and be a very valuable demonstration of the leadership abilities of the new administration. So it will be important to note what happens. I haven't heard what happened. I suppose, at least, someone got a call from HR.

When people are sincere and they want to warn others about danger, that is always a thing to consider when looking at troublesome disobeying of orders. In the case of disobeying a direct order, we all kind of know what is going to happen: the person will have to be talked to about what that person did. And that person will have to go through a process, an HR process, that notes their disobedience, and deals with it, in government, federal government land, in a way that follows very strict, and legal, guidelines where the rights of all (that is the dream) are respected. And so Mr. Trump can't just use his catch phrase.

The sad part is that if he did fire these pepole they would probably be rewarded by the riled up people who call for senseless protests against imaginary tyranny, accusing all of us of being akin to . . . ? ? ? their worst fears?

Boo. Are you scared now?

Anyone who is such a fool as to not follow the real news, and to not reject all the slander, then if they are excitable, then they are excitable. Most of us tend to try and veer away from that kind of person. That's why some of us opted out of a trip to Washington DC last Friday. So all the accounts about the size of the crowd? In the measure of feeling that there woudl a street-threatre beat down of attendees in some corners, whihc has proven true, the millions who could have gone decided that it was better to hunker in than to brave the storm. But our hearts were there. And we have a new president. And who is our leader? No one who wants the worst case things that the crazy-heads who delude Trump will be like that fear. No one wants those things that you fear. Not Trump, no one.

So what happens to this person who spit in the face of management, the management of our new president?

The Office of Personnel Management will most likely have to get involved. And there are most likely privacy issues associated with it, so will we ever even know? Or is it news? Freedom of information? National Park Service people are often high-born land-owning kind, who like to work near where they live and often affiliated with old-money foundation democrats. So the tweet was a partisan dig, then, wasn't it? And I know that it is not suppose to be allowed to use the public resources for partisan purposes, but that is just how democrats always seem to run things. They have everything paid for by the government, they quid pro quo 250 million dollars to people that applaud at the murder of Israelis in the final hours. And they worry about those who voted for Trump? When they squat in public jobs and use them for partisan purposes, and turn the IRS into a bully-hammer against people who are just trying to be political. I'm not saying that the IRS should not do it's job, but if you do it in a partisan way, then you ought to do it for all of the other factions as well. On another matter, this IRS matter, where bosses seemed to have been turned into political partisans for the left, what is the mitigation of that situation?

One suggestion (a bad idea): to be fair the IRS could come up with a percentage of Right Wing organizations that were audited and then audit the same percentage of Left wing organizations.

I know, it's a cute idea. Doesn't it sound like payback? But we are not brutes to cause to harm, but to build and bridge. We don't want a wall. But they made us take that position because they are so sure that nothing is the better solution. So the wall is the ultimate hyperbole. I'd prefer a gantry instead.

As far as the IRS thing: maybe there should be a payout by the government to all of those who were audited for political causes? But that only punishes the tax payers and not the perpetrators. My guess: we don't do 'backatcha' payback to the Left what some pretenders to being of the left, but failing to respect the law or the rights of their opponents, as a real leftist would, so they weren't of the left at all but were merely those who pretended to be of the left. They were partisan in their behaviors. We might call these 'false-left', or the 'fake-socialists'.

There are a lot of good peole who are convinced of all of their leftist tripe, and they do a lot of good work within the framework of all that, on the street, at the half-way house, at the homeless shelter, helping battered anyone (women are often helped). A lot of good is done by true believing Marxists. So to curse them and be punitive? That doesn't help anyone. We can not do to the left what the last administration seemed to be doing to the Patriot movement. Most leftist people don't deserve the attention. and the IRS and better serve by coming up with better proceedures so that future administrations can never turn the audit process into a punative arm of the executive.

What else needs to happen at the IRS? Let's hear what prosecutors are going to do now.

So a counter purge, like what Obama let happened, but only against those who are on the left, will only hurt good people. The perpetrators of the false-cause governance of the last 8 years want us to act the way that they did. They accuse the Trump administration all kinds of unsubstantiated motivations, based upon false fears. And it must be that some know that these fears are false, but it serves them to stir up people and falsely associate Mr. Trump, and all who didn't want anymore foundation cartel governance, with some kind of last-century retrograde socialist dictatorship which they called the 3rd Reich. Hitler and his party were Socialists. Mr. Trump is a kind of Republican, but seems more like a Libertarian. He's not a Nazi.

Mr. Trump is not that, he's more like Benjamin Franklin: very shrude, good at the con, good at making things work out well for all parties, and good at making deals, good deals, that help a lot of people.

So, as far as the person who tweeted illegally from his /her/? government station? If it was motivated by partisanship, the person needs to be reprimanded. I'd be surprised to hear that someone could actually be fired, though that would be the showy thing to do. But Trump is not looking for television ratings. And the ratings that he needs to get are votes come the next election. So he's got to stay with in the law. And he's got to deal fairly, and within the proper channels of personnel, and the whole GS system (Government Service system).

Most people in government are doing well their tasks, and fulfilling the responsibilities of their offices, and can not be treated as fodder for a political pogrom. Mass firings ought not happen. And anyone who is behaving badly, being counter-mission, well . . . the system knows how to discipline. It's not going to be like the TV show.

Or, I might be wrong. Let's just watch and see. It's a good time to be paying attention to the news.

The whole world is watching

yes, the whole world can see, in
 the little video, you're
 blocking the sidewalk
 in a hostle way.
 It's not a protest.
It's a violation of a right of way.
Right of way: it's provided so that
 powerful people can't prevent juset
 the ordinary passer-by
from using commonly used paths, trails, routes,
roads, passageways, access, beach right, water rights.
 Rights.
 We all have them.
Don't claim that we are part of some giant tyranny
 meanwhile being unaware of the
 tennets of Common Law and
 the concept of
 Public way
and right to pass, and public sidewalk.

The tyranny that you endure you create
 in your own mind.
We can't live our life within strictures
that are crafted from your misinterpretations
 of events
and with ignorance of common decency.

and you call for them to be arrested
because he wants his wife to pass
 and your blocking her?

And, no, the whole world is not watching.
 That's maybe indicative of a god-complex.
But enough of us did see you, and
 how you behaved.

You might think that wearing a mask makes you
 anonymous.
That doesn't absolve you from being decent.
 You can't bait strangers
 and then claim oppression.

You need to come in from the cold.
 Protest yourself.
 Get over your self importance.
Instead of blocking hte people, you
should have been polite and given them some pertinent message
of joy, and you righteous cause.
 But where was it?
You just chanted along with the megaphone guy
like you were in a zombie chorus.

We'll forgive you, years from now.
We'll not bring it up if it becomes a problem for you.
Most exprotestors have a story or two to tell.
 Mostly it's about how agitators
tried to get them to do things
 and they didn't
 but broke off
 and went home.

 we'll do unto you
 the minimal.

 If you think about it,
forgive in the way that you'd forgive.
 Do unto
 not doing.
 Doing.
Sometimes the right thing to do with bullies
is to charge them with assault.
 Forgiveness is great,
 but sometimes
 officers
 can't just look away
like some had been told to do
these last few or so years
 during the retrograde era
of reversed and inverted purpose of governance.

If you are on the street and have something real to share
then everyone likes to hear about a great new trend.
If what you do is act like a choir for some guy with a megaphone?
And don't deal one-on-one with those who happen along, and show interest
and be engaging and friendly . . .

being friendly is about as pro as you can get.
Life doesn't always have to be a test.
And you can take a hit or two, when you disagree
 with megaphone charlie.
You might just be able to walk away
 if Charlie lets you.

 Take a Silver Dollar
 Take a Silver Dime
 Mix it all together
 in some allegator wine

All you protestors, get over yourselfs.
If you cry the sky is falling the sky is falling
 who will believe you
when you actually have a righteous cause?
 You loose your credibility, and
 you waste your efforts.
If you have energy to do good things,
then pick good things to do!
 Blocking highways and sidewalks
 is what bullys do.
Some would say 'If I'd have acted like that I'd
have wanted someone to smack me
to snap me out of it'
so that would be "doing as you'd have done to you"
But we don't want anyone smacking anyone
on a public sidewalk, or anywhere.
 So don't block the street.
My point: if you provoke a
 truculent biker to
defend his wives right to pass
and attend a public and government
 sanctioned activity, you
 really can't expect any
 trooper or officer to
 see your side of it
no matter how truculent a husband
 might get
 to protect his wife.

 She glows
 along the fence
 where they are leaning
 her
 strands frazzled,
 his hips ache.
 She makes him feel young.
They drove a long way to be here.
 She's got her own worries.
 Sometimes even she
 has irrational fears.
She didn't deserve to be disrespected
 She's always helping everyone
 even bedraggled
 crazy mouths
to stupid to know who really loves ya.

 She's his saint,
you can hold her, pin her down,
 be very mean.
but you can never stop her.
 Her cause always succeeds
because she always makes it pure
 and trusts her husband
when he tells her not to worry
 when she said
 that maybe they shouldn't go
 they'll be too much buzzkill.
It's supposed to rain really hard.
 And we've heard
that some want to cause trouble.

He's like, they'll be no trouble.
 He, was, of course.
And, no, the whole world didn't see.
 But enough of us did
 to see jerks being jerks.

If you really needed his help, and hers
that guy would be right there for you,
 doing good, performing true service.
If your worst fears were true?
He would be your righteous friend.

 when did you stop
 believing in people
 to think that we'd all
 let bad things happen
 that you delude.
 that won't
did you take some bad acid?
 are you on pills?

 did they give you pills
 to go to the demonstration?

who, exactly, am I talking to?
oh, ya, the imaginary jerk protestor
like the ones I saw in the video
saying that the whole world is watching.
 No, they are not.

Madonna

We all know she was being hyperbolic . . .

I wrote all about it, and about how Hydrangae get better with age when you ignore them and let them grow fallow, kind of like a mid-life rock-star looking for relevance, just blooms like clock work as long as there is rain, and that kind of describes Madonna too.

Why do they hate the PresiDon?

I wrote all about it, but I gotta edit it first which ought to be policy here, but I'm not a business.

Maybe I'll post it later.

if you don't have proper fonts installed you won't see what this picture shows: the output of the echo command with unicode symbols as input. If you are blind basically the unicode are symbols that you could feel as shapes. If you have a 'font box', which would be like that divice with all the pins in it that you can place your hand inside, and the shape of your hand will appear on the surface. If such a thing locked, it would then let a blind person feel it and they would feel the shape. such a device that does that for font shapes would greatly aid the blind. It would be a 'kind of' high resolution new-braille. Call it a 'sean-box' font reader.
