Instead of providing a better choice? Instead? They have people rioting nonsensically and slapping work-horses.
Instead of giving a better choice Glen Beck tells people that voting for Trump goes against what God wants. Glen, if God is talking to you with words that you can share, why is he speaking of such banalities as elections?
Instead of working against stereotyping and political targeting they create a special class of 'dreamers' who are granted sainthood just merely because they are the children of favored people and ushered here to the united States to colonize for their cause: free welfare for everyone. If it weren't for all the illegals enrolled, how many, would really be using the spiffy new Healthcare daught Guvv?, ev gov'nr? OK, I admit it, I don't know and I didn't do any research. But this article is about the 'sense' of why the disstablishmnet (self-stablishment) doesn't 'get it'. Get it? This is a sense of how us publicans feel. I, of course, am only speaking for myself.
The sense is also that the preferred candidate of the left party (the ones who pander to the stereotypes of poverty and immigration, meanwhile divorced from that lifestyle and living large as self-anointed 'advocates' for the 'dispossesed' and 'dreamers', probably, too weepers, and "Don't hassle me, bro." pajama boys: people who don't exist after they become self-aware. So don't pander to them because by now, they are all grown up and don't support your kind of 'if it is free, it is me' governance. Everything has to be free at Uncle Guv's party.
Uncle Guv and his entourage of 'it has to be free' for-lifers. A vile stereotype. So let me get right back at it, my Lenten self-loathing (a Catholic requirement, of sorts)
No such vile people really exist. You describe imagination and characters of fiction. No one is so ripe with conceit and self-importance and so vile in behavior to be on a constant yum, like a bumble bee that lives in an ever blooming bush, the party never ends. It's just a dream from the fart-factory of bad political puff-piece yellow journalism, trying to sway you: get you off of your ledge. So let me speak directly to Glen Beck: Mr. Beck stop assuming that you speak for God. You ought to read where the warning is put out about false prophets, and what happens to them. The story is that the false prophets really got a very bad fate. Fortunately we live in new times (in the time of the New Testament, and thus any such curse probably doesn't even get put on false prophets now, because God has asserted our freedom from sin, if we want it. And what does that mean? I suppose it means a lot of different things to a lot of different people. Clearly, we are put as equals in Christ. And so God isn't talking to us to tell us how to vote, is He, really? Glen? Is he?
We don't live in a Garden. Our fates are not foregone. God has bestowed upon us the free will to decide for ourselves who to vote for. And also, the world isn't so horrible and mean, Glen, that mistakes of leadership can't be corrected at the ballot next time, here in America? Is it that bad where an election doesn't even matter?
Yes, I know that vine seems strong. But it might but grow for a day, Jonah. You slander Mr. Trump by assuming the very very worst about him. Sift through the rhetoric and the polemic of him and you see a guy who wears the actors mask when he needs to wear the mask. He is able to be who you want to see. And since the voters are very upset at the putrid nature of much governance, these days, as clearly you agree, we saw Mr. Trump pandering to the anger of voters like you and me, Glen, who see it so obvious, that the dead vine is clinging to the halls of the people's power, a kudzu upon the institutions of the land. And every so many years that garden of federal excess needs pruning. But that isn't the trees that produce fruit. So we need a person who isn't afraid of letting the fed be thinned down. Not clear cut, no slash-n-burn, like the Democrat programs seem to often do. But the bureaucracy, and the governance, has been ballooned to allowed for a groupthink, like the lull that happens when people are sleepy after a great banquet. But not all of us were invited to that feast at the expense of the coffers of the country. And not all of us, being able to take from that table, were willing to do it for very long before repulsion and feeling of 'we need to do better than this, this doesn't work anymore.'. WE have the sense of needing a great big change in the world, a warm wind to melt the glacier of the indifference to suffering that self-righteous lefty-fell-good rhetoric cultivates in the self-entitled salons of the grand hypocrisy. Whew, that was very long and will def incite. I leave it as a bone for you to say 'what a kook.' I assure you, as I have said before, I speak about theoretical people, not real ones. And this is a draft. so if it seems cold in here now, I wish only good will to salons of the great social hypocrisy. And may you reach Damascus and get your sight back, if you have lost it for a while.
I know, I veered off course. I loose focus. this was a rant about how ridiculous Glen is made to seem. But Glen, do you really think that God talks to you directly and tells you who to vote for? Let me say that I vote for my own reasons, and often it is about regionalism and affiliation. So I know that Trump went to Wharton, so I get it that he's got something special in the management area. Make a list of Wharton grads who are super wealthy. Notice anyone important on that list? Wharton simply is not a school for bigots.
Does Trump say ridiculous things? He's mirroring back what he perceives is my guess. At least he is on the page of being an advocate for the commerce of the United States, and those of us who still value our nation.
In any case the world will still function and life will go on no matter what bad choice for president gets decide by those who are deciding. And if the forces of do-as-we-say gain sway? We might be in new territory. Clearly the puppet-god-head pageantry isn't going to wash this time around. The people who were the spokes-mouths of the authoritarians have lost credibility with very many people. So no one really cares what they say on the Evening News anymore. And if the people want 'trump' its what they want not because of the guy, Donald Trump, born in June, but because of what happened in Philadelphia, born in Lexington and Concord, in April. That is the reason. We have a country. A country which it seems that manyu want to deprecate and merge in with Socialist one-world-bank-tocracy. The people don't seem to want that, do they? We don't want rule from the biggest bank, we don't want rule from the biggest bureaucracy. We believe in the government, as it was conceived in Philadelphia so many years ago. Not the one that was born from the gold-vaults of central Europe many centuries before that.
Maybe by History is wrong, the ones who rule us with their gold could be anywhere. And it doesn't have to be gold, either, does it? The sum of wealth in the world is much more than all the gold in it. Also, somewhere, in space, there is an asteroid made of solid Rhodium. I claim it as my own. It is larger than The Moon. It's worth more, on paper, than all of human history. Of course, in space, paper doesn't last very long.
Alright, full disclosure: I know noting other then a sense of history of gold vault, no real source for that from me. Also I know of no experiments as to what happens to paper when it is exposed to free space, out in orbit. Also, as far an asteroid made of solid Rhodium? It's a cool idea, OK. And I don't know if it's real or not. But if it is real, if it is real, I relinquish my claim in that I share it with all Humanity. Yes. If such an asteroid did exist I say let all of Humanity share in it.
The modern age, The Rhodium Age, is better than any asteroid larger than The Moon and made of solid Rhodium. Maybe we can share that with everyone too? Isn't that what we all want to do? The richest, the poorest? No one disagrees: there is too much for just one person, one small group, to claim title to everything. But unlike a giant Rhodium asteroid, the earth, and all of it's bounty, doesn't need to be melted down and distributed. It's already here, now, and we just need to keep living. And keep sharing. And stop blaming so much. And understand that the villains that make the world suck are probably just the result of collective selfishness, and no action by individuals. It is a result, not an intent. And thus those who look for blame just make it worse for all of us jonesing for union and communion. I vote for who I want, you vote for who you want, and I promise, if it turns out that the guy I voted for is a bad person, I'll be out there pointing out all his ridiculousness too, with you. But in our quest to have no future despots, let's not be despotic ourselves. That is what the goony protesters do.
And as a general prescription for Glen: I suggest a fast that means something: fast from politics and politicking until the end of Pentecost. Can you, hum? Glen? This is a challenge. I know you probably won't ever see this, so I can't hold you to it.
And as for everyone else: admit it, our understanding of History is filtered through our memories of what we have learned about it. No one living has a full grasp. But any one even a little bit aware realizes that tyrannies do arise in our world, and only through snarky-ever-vigilence do we shine a light on it so that the ice of intolerance melts and people do what is good for themselves and the everyone. And rhetoric, like this, is just entertainment. The real work is at the market, in the parks, on the shore, at the beaches, in the bowling ally, at the laundromat, anywhere where varied people gather. You have more in common with everyone than you realize. Do you laundry. Cook your dinner. Watch your stories. Stop thinking you know and start stopping that flood of speculative blameology that makes you delude that you understand the motivations of strangers. And if you talk politics with strangers, better be really really nice. and do not stand in anyone's way when they are trying to traverse the town.
Of course, sometimes, the police, and law enforcement, needs to assert the rule of law. So if they stand in your way realize this: they are charged to do that. In a sense, you hired them to do that.
If you dehumanize those who do their jobs by being security personnel, like police; if you demonize police, your lawless request for special treatment will result in your possible arrest. Because when they are on the job, and the streets are alight because of havoc, that is no time to question authority. And if you do question authority, it ought to be done in the proper channels. If you question an officer of the law as he/she/? does his/her/? duties, then that officer may feel a threat from you. How does such a scene then play out?
It doesn't play out well. The most likely are very socially conscious and respected, and well loved people. And you are giving them lip while they are on the job. It says a lot about who you are.
Do we really need to remind young minds that rioting is retro and that police are public servants? And when that isn't the case? ARen't there armies of prosecutors and civil rights lawyers on the job? Or has funding all that these last 50 years been a waste of money?
And if you really did believe that police were a society of ill, then don't you think it would be a no-win to go against that? They will win.
A friend of mine told me about a riot in Cambridge in the 1970's that started at a political event. It was some agitators from the crazy-left. They wanted a group of stoners to confront the police. Of course, it was Boston, and the kids were not inclined to go along with what the agitators wanted them to do. But some, who were lead like sheep, got caught in some tear gas. My friend, he said he wondered away, cutting down the rail road tracks away from the marchers. He said that a lot of people did that too. And they had no respect, after that, for those who wanted them to go and confront the police.
Victoria Snelgrove was killed by a rubber bullet in October of 2004 after a baseball game. That shameful, and surreal, incident ought to shy everyone away from the idea of rioting. Read all about it or be cursed to relive it.
how about an old draft poem from 4 years ago? from poem page 211 At 8:24:57 PM EDT on Sun Apr 8, 2012 bperil wrote: What the artist knows he isn't going to say he knows he knows better than to claim to know but then, as the beer takes over he forgets to know to know not to know and starts to think that he knows that people don't know what they think that they know oh no no no ya don't and all like that the thoughts just turning into hypnotic sounds and presented as if it's somekind of philosophy of life which it isn't and telling you about the heart but it doesn't know anything about it and presenting bad behaviour as if it is funny when it isn't. He fails in his unknowing to know what it is that he doesn't know. He fails in his not learning to know what to learn to not learn, and what to learn to earn and how to learn to live and be from the bay to the bridge to the edge of the sky where the Winter is banished because he's that kind of guy, stuff that makes no sense if you need it to but doesn't have to be so clear as to leave you wondering what side of it you are fastened to. The poet never claimed to know what all of his words could seem to mean to anyone, how could he know that? That poet doesn't even need to know what these words mean now, hope nothing mean, I miss you.
