I have thought of some things that are mildly funny. I suppose I would need to polish them. I tend to put drafts up, polish them externally, and then never update here. So sad.

The October Surprise?

The October Surprise will show up in a dream. And it won't be politics at all. Sudden lightening. Rolling thunder. Storm still far off. Wet leaves all over the path through these wet woods just after the rain, during the rain, pumpkin festival going out of control some where far up the road. He's heard the reports.

It will have the flavor of pumpkin and nutmeg. Maybe too much spice, eh? I assure you, it was fresh. Just ground. Did it say a pinch? Or did it as for a dash? A part of a spoonful. A whole nutmeg ground up and served at once . . . oh . . . no not that.

The October Surprise. It's the brownie they tried to sell you at the beach near the all-night you need to be diagnosied to buy weed head shop -slash- surf and bike shop. But you say "I'm not sick~!" Is that a surprise? Aren't you glad for me? I can't be your client because I am not sick.

Then some indignant nutmeg flavored icecream eater comes bounding across the frame of the view of the what(??), a clip?, interupting the humorless political void that was brought on my profligate mongering (of the most focused kind, and directed with starling percision against anyone with various key words in the title of their industry, factory, sled shop, or other establishment not typical in large liberal metropolousae.

He went to the all night pancake yummery and ordered the October surprise and here is what they brought him : . . .

But seriously, dudes, in Keene, rioting at a pumpkin festival? Don't you know we got enough to worry about then kids getting too high too fast and running stupid and out of control?

As far as it goes, October Surprise . . . I guess I should corner Bob Beckel and ask him what he was holding back. Come on, Bob, you great big beary drunk (and that is a good thing) tell us tell us tell us please please please what the October surprise is, pleaaaasssssseeee."

The October surprise will be Mr. Beckal shwoing up at the house with a big bottle of the best that you can legally get, and drinking shots with you and helping you hand out Haloween candy.
