Wow! Angus Jones is really rocking some hard taser of truth out there in the internet video clip land. Some will say that he is a fool. I think what he does is brave. He believes that people are loosing their souls so he is trying to warn them. And torpedoing his job. But he's been on the show for long enough, and the show as mostly done a long time ago. And the show does pander to basest urges.
People who read my website might know that I wrote extensively about Charlie Sheen when he was having his poetic interlude. So now that Angus has had his say, will people pay heed to it? As a Christian do we really need to reject the world in such a hard way, basically telling our bosses that they are evil? If he is really a christian he'd understand that Lorrie is just hte kind of guy who might be a good candidate for conversion. Do you think that Angus tells Lorrie what he thinks to his face? It might be the only time that anyone does.
So what does happen when someone discovers late in life " oh explative!, I've been worshiping evil things, and a lot of what I have done is seeped in it?" Does an artist destroy his whole portfolio? How many times, and be honest, those of you who have ever bought porn, how many times just after you had your release did youtake the thing and dispose of it, possibly destroying it? The stuff that someoen like Lorrie makes is funny at the moment in one sense because it can't all be evil like Angus says. But Lorrie does kindof make the stuff really sick in a very real sense. It must be hard for actors to have to play the roll of degenerates.
Lorrie sure does love to depict the degenerate character. But he makes them understandible in their flaws. I don't think, Angus, that we are supposed to emulate a character such as, say the Wollowitz caharcer from your sister show. However, has Lorrie not made this character less of a creep? Well, he starts as a real creep, almost a staulker, and then . . . after a time they brought in a wife for him. So can the humor in the show be about the way that creepy young men can overcome their gross sterotypical points of view that comes from immaturaty to progress to a point of being well-respected adults who have overcome the various obvious flaws of over-sexualizing their thoughts and life. Some pepole are hormonally charged and rarring for 'it' (and by it I mean the obvious: fornication).
That is real people. Real peoole are given over to their over whelming urges for sex. And someone like a Chuck Lorrie creates a show that allows writers to pander to these basest urges. Does that mean that they are all bad, in the sense that is trying to encourage people to act the debased way that the crreepy characters in the bad sitcom behave? But situation comedies are all about misbehaving. Comedy, in a certain sense, is the presentation of misbehaving and then the presentation of hte obvious consequences of that misbehavior. It only really becomes 'the devils work' when it presents ideas that are more like a brainwash: if it doesn't present the real consequences. It is thus false. Is the devil actually a part of that? Well, Angus seems to believe so now.
Let me say that it does not seem uncommon to me for a young person at the point of conversion to feel that the world is seeped in sin. The world is, in fact, quite a nasty place in a lot of ways. See how people make happy happy movies and put deep sickness way down inside of it? See how there seems to be a showing to the world the debased, the sad, the sick and twisted. See how when healthy people watch TV they are baraged with advertisement after advertisement of glum sounding voices listing all the possible diseases and ailments that people might get as if to suggest a disease for us to have. Yes, the world can be a sick place.
But just what is hell? And where is it? And how do we avoid it? Can we really just change the channel on our television and hell will go away? Can we really just stop listening to the same kind of music? Can we really just push mute?
There are so many voices out there, seemingly it is legions. That is how it must seem to a lot of people. We see the horrer of the world and worry about the souls of our peers. We see them in their hypnotic trance at the mall spending money that they don't have on things that they do not really need. Meanwhile there are those who are looking at this and saying that maybe the folks spending too much on too little have misguided priorities. And is it funny? It might be seen as funny with good writers.
And what about those who always call out that it is all terible and hellascious? Does Angus really think that the people around him are really going to hell? Well, if he does he is doing right to warn everybody about it. But some would say that what Lorrie does is like pornography. It goes onto the burn pile. No body cares about it really, it is akin to masterbation.
And if anyone is offended by Angus, then I say lighten up. If you can't take a joke then why are you writing comedies? If you are offended by Angus he thinks he is doing good by telling you how sick your television shows have become. People rutinely behave in antisocial ways and with out bad consequences. So . . . maybe it is a form of hell, watching your bad shows. And maybe Angus is right, I put myself in hell when I watch them. But then, at the end of it, it is over. I turn off the TV. Hell ends.
Less is more.

~ OK Now.
How many days in dream I sang your praise when you were not even by my side. what do I know of love except what I left behind? How many nights in dream I tossed around to think of you as gone and searching far outside the house and way beyond the lawn? Out in those woods down the long endless slopes from here to far away across the hills, across the farms, and far across the bay? How many ways I say to sing your praise that Jesus Saves and let the raves of lovers keep on raving on. Outside the forestt outside of time what matters and is not gone. I sing your praise! Hey, Jesus Saves! Hallalueah all night long Hallaleua all night long Howdy ho! all night long holy holly holy grove all night long! here is a song fragment: You know that Jesus isn't just at the deep end of the pool. What you say right now is what you testify you're an inspired loving fool. You know that hard truth isn't easy to testify to power. what seems to them just passing lasts forever if an hour. You know that swiming in the love of God always brings you to the shore if you need a shore to get to. You might be seeking something more. Love is hard to do right when you get it wrong. And what you learn about the Lord can't be condensed into a song. You know that Jesus doesn't need you calling out his name. but that that don't mean he doesn't like so keep calling just the same. Love is hard like the edge that cuts a necessary razor. And sometimes the one who is most concerned has his weapon as a tazor. Tazor of truth aloof and without proof if you get it wrong if they call you a goof if they tell you you were duped and made to seem as a fool; if they tell you you are nothing without them saying that you are cool; fear not, young warrior, ya, maybe you're not all right. But you know enough to stand your ground and chase off a fight. You know enough to walk proud because you try to get it right. And if there is darkness and needing illumination you'll be the one that has the light.![]()
