The allegory of Bible verse belies truths otherwise inexpresible with words.
Accept that most of what is handded down from the Bible is actually very very helpful for you.
Some people have issues with various aspects of ancient scriptures and so they toss the whole book aside. The Book gets tossed aside and the person's life starts to slide off into various future. I say 'various future' because I seek to not judge (though I do it just by breathing in some sense). Some people have issues with the idea that it is 'just' the bible, or 'just' the Koran, or what other book it is that their religion holds as a vessal of that great big unspoken thing. I don't imagine at any eccumenical soul would ever say that it is just one book. There could be a sea of ink (this is not my allegory) and there would never be enough ink, even if all of the oceans were ink, to pen the many books that would sing the praises of the highest of holies. But what do I know of this? That truth is not in exclusivity. So in any case, me, a grand sinner, asking you to go back to your church (don't have to come to mine), or whatever temple or other place of worship (even a Druid circle) if you have left a place where people love you in a way that is most kind (like from a church or a temple or where ever you have felt the love before) you can go back. You can reunite with your congregation. Don't be afraid to expect that people will forgive you. An ocean of tears could not either be cried to forgive all the sins of this life if there were not the grace of The Lord letting the forgiveness happen. And though forgiveness frees us from the problems of sin, it also allows for healing so that people who sin can learn a better way. And if someone has done you wrong and you are not yet ready to forgive, maybe it is because that you don't sense that the person is repentant? You can forgive someone and that doesn't mean that you have to put up with their bad behavior anymore. So anyone who was harmed at their place of worship, I can understand how you would want to stay away from there. But that was a bad person doing bad things. If they are still there theen, of course you don't go back. If they are false prophets, retro-grade preists, religious charletons, then, of course you don't have to go back there. But don't give up on the church, or the congregation, or who ever else was there. blah blah blah. All of you who are ready, you can go back to your congreation or some other one. If you see the light, feel the light from the Church that you used to go to Why not go back? Or if you think that the light is out then you come back and you help light it. Help to light that light why fight? of if you were hurt we were hurt too we didn't understand what you were upset about. We're sinners too. That's why we are here. When we are apart it is like someone has taken apart a bicycle. It's not broken. But it doesn't function. We need all the parts of the bike to ride it safely. So go back and light the light. And forgive us the things we didn't get right. And if some creep did something bad to you he hurt us by hurting you like sticking a board in the spokes. Ring the little silver bell. Ride by in the full light. light the light. We need all the parts to the bike. Go back to your church and fix the bike of your life and ride off into the dusk and into the night in which you will eventually see a very bright light. Little child comes to hug your legs in dream. You're not afraid of what to do you have to do what is right. Light the light. Go back to your church and make it right. Guy goes off and makes racey movies. but he loves Christmas the best. So he goes off home to his New England place to return to the nest. Precher doesn't know that things are not right. Strong handsome man in the shade and the light. It all feels right. He sings the hymns. He praises the Lord. He is just as holy as you are as is everyone else. Make it right. Go light the light.Entrance to the Sturbridge Town Hall, Dec 2006
