Bootstrap js

This very easy to use framework makes layout a breeze! here is a link to a sample page utilzing the bootstrap framework. Well, it isn't much, and the links don't do anything. It is just to show how easy bootstrap is to use.

Here is another bootstrap page, with some animated graphics.

Supertuxkart 0.8.1!

Supertuxkart 0.8.1! It's not much different from the 0.8. Some of the items are different, like the turbo powerups are blue now. That's cool. It was very easy to build it just by following their directions. I was playing the game almost as soon as it was done compiling. One hitch: when you run it with out installing it you need to be in the correct directory in order for it to work. Basically at the root of the build.

I haven't learned how to build a track for the game, but I do sometimes change the graphics. I have all of the new graphics here, so I used some of it for one of the levels. It's not hard to do it. I copied it and renamed it, and put references to it where it needed to be so now I have two 'museum' levels, one with my special graphics.

task chairs

I finally was able to get a decent task chair! I have special needs as I am freakishly tall. So, the chairs that I need to use are typically over a thousand dollars retail. Fortunatly not all things are needing to be retail.

When you spend a lot of time sitting and typing it is important to sit properly, to type correctly, and with the correct equipment. For example I require a specific type of keyboard, specifically a Microsoft one that is a patented design: The Natural Ergonomic Keyboard. It is worth the cost. I've used many of them through the years, as they sometimes drop and break.

There are not a lot of good chairs for oversized people. But in the future task chairs will need to not be junk. There are new ergonomic regulations for task chairs, and that means that the cheep knock-off chairs aren't going to cut it anymore. If you weigh over what is considered average, or if you are very tall, you need a special chair! Now employers have new obligations in supply proper task chairs.

The best chairs? Well, Herman Miller. BodyBilt (a trademarked name). And Steelcase. Anything else and look at it twice. And guess what: Made in America is a really good choice for a quality chair! You may have a hard time finding a quality task chair that isn't made in America, so why try? Just look for the American chairs.

It's worth finding the right chair. Why? Because otherwise, long term, you will have body pain if you do not.

Mr. Donald Rumsfeld, who is a well known Washington insider, says that he stands when he is doing his tasks. He doesn't have an office chair! I guess that works too. I like having the chair.

what to do with old unrecorded tapes?

What do you do with old tapes that you haven't used? The package, bought at Leachmere, said $5.49. That price from circa 1990. I only used four of these microcassettes. I listened to my lame stories from back then. Then what? transfer it to mp3? Throw it away? Destroy it? You can't keep stuff forever. Old media that isn't going to be played ever again is not necessary in the house. If it's got some cool artwork, maybe keep it. But sometimes you open it and see mold, other decay, dried oils, muck of an unknown kind, termite mud. So what to do with it then? Put it in the trash!

So I threw it away, as if I'm committing some sin by doing it. I could carry it forward, put an ebay ad out to try and sell it. But who uses microcassettes?

I'll write a story. It'll have microcassettes as the software storage media. The eveil battallian bottle drone warrior clone bottles bots (Wheatan!) use them for their message. It'd become a cult thing. KIds would have to have an authentic microcassette tape from circa 1990 or they just wouldn't be cool. See them all down at the old-goods store (and retro placeee-o-crapp) thrift and tucket (put your sour thoughts in a bucket).

There is something sane about throwing away old technology, cutting bait on what has become a bad idea. Despite the long term usibility and perfection of audio cassette tapes, they were a superior way to record high-end audio, they are now a thing of the past. And no one ought to be making fresh recordings on them. If I look up microcassette tape on Ebay or Amazon will I find a marketplace for it? Of course, someone somewhere will be selling it. Probably for less than the cost of shipping.

wow. The price is high for it. I guess it must be a commodity for someone. What do they use it for now? Making forgeries of tapes made by famous people? Maybe I shouldn't have been so hasty in desposing of it. I guess I could fish it out of the trash, put it up on ebay and see if it sells. Maybe not.

Software Metal
 If it can't be broke
 you won't be either
