at Urge Central you will find an image collage.
If you have been here before you might understand that the look and feel of this site is totally different now. I finally did a 99% port to no tables(!). No Tables! I would put it all in caps but that gets scoffed at by mavens of good web style.
There was only one item left that I still had on my page when I checked it yesterday. I have not gotten to that. I suppose I could remove it, links to things that are no longer is all anyway, so I should.
Those links have been some of my most popular in one sense: the page that they brings you to used to have a theoretically unlimited span of what they would link to . . . Of course boundry conditions did exist, but that way I made it at first is if you wanted to go outside the boundries the system would generate the webpage to wrap the files that would be there if the map went out to that place. But the map simply did not exist.
The page was links to a map outside of the extents of that map. Could those parts exist? It would be a giant array. You can find the things out there if they exist. If they do not exist, they are not there. You can ask for them. The system will generate a response. It will give you file names for everything that would be there if the map went out to those extents. But there simply would not be any bitmaps that match up with the filenames that are presented within the HTTPD entity that was spit out by the maperilli scripts.
When faced with constant requests for the file they did not include the associated requests for the files that do not exist. So I will get the request for the page, but none of the linked files are requested. Those files do not exist when the request is for areas outside the bounds of the map.
To end it finally I have softlinked the files that are requested to my description of how to use div placement to create an implementation (in a very elegant way) of The Pluperfect Square as a piece of 2D art.
I clearly have a lot of things to think about that will give me a much better site. The first is to have a better way to present the images. I used to have gallaries. They are all table based. I need to resurrect them. They were very useful and exceptionally flexible.
Maperilli was also table based. Mapperelli could be translated into a different idiom (the div idiom) but bottom line is that it really is a row and column based mapping system. Using a table is actually not a bad idea for maperelli. Does it have to be an html table or some other kind of entity that displays itself by div-mapping to a grid using absolute positioning within a relative div. The table stuff works. It's an interface that needs to be reserected. Do I take the time to do more work on this? Why are all of those sites in China so interested in those scripts? Is there some interesting boundry effect that they see in it that I can't recognize? Are they using the static data as a way to pass around messages? I don't know. Well, it's gone now for them. They can read all about pluperfect squares.
Jobs? No jobs? anything real? Mention this column to get my attention. use the phrase 'duck on a truck'. lol
