Poem Shards

The necessary Inequality (of thought)
  There is a necessary Inequality of thought
 They say these are the same, but they are not.
 It knows no color, 
       no blue, no grey
   but it is adament about
      what you should not say
     not restricting words but
            just what you mean
     especially when you cause a scene.

  The bigotry of thought prevents
      one from understanding the lack of difference
  which their false opposite creates,

       "blame the man
         blame the man."

    which man?
         what man?
      an old man?
    his baby?
         a big red barn?
     Saturday (with the sun blaring on the new moto-cross equipment)?

  "They got what we ain't got and I want it." 
  he little-boy-blathers.

   Thoughts like that, those unequal thoughts
     are murdered by a parent
   who teaches the youngster to avoid
       envy.

  Who can teach the race-baitiing hater
       to avoid envy
   when he has his minions of unequal thought
  ready to lay waste upon the imagined provinces of his imagined rivals.

  And if you look for the people that he describes
      that he says he hates, who
    he says their time is through
      it isn't me
     it isn't you
 he'll tell you that
     it's rethoric
           so go away
       and make it quick.

  Those imagined rivals will glare at you
     from across the imagined stage
  but at his rallies it is far too real.

  do they leave chanting and singing God's hymns?
      Can you listen to their chirps as they
      sojourn joyously into the evening?
