The Left Column

   Mysticism

The inscense burns for
you Ted tonight on the
mantle over the fireplace
that lays unlit.

the midnight moon is new
so it does not light this
late time hour.

When morning with the sun
you have passed beyond
how many keys of Bardo?

I never read the Tibet
book but had a copy
of the Eygptian one.

that generation of
Catholics were burried
in Forest Hills.

Some folks built big
statues that are still
in those spooky fields.

If icons built are then
removed to make a
better future
does it disrespect
the artist
to take his work
away?

If I hate the
work I can love
the artist.

If you don't
get
Picasso then
please don't
tell me he sucks.

Ted you were
Picasso
in what you do
in this life here.

And now you pass
to where the sky
meets our fantasies
of you.

You didn't just pose
and talk but effected
posative outcome for
all involved.

Negotiate a better
deal and share what
is fair.

So how will history
see you?
It matters not to
me because
I know
you
have a heart
that is true.

Where the Pavement Ends The Beach Begins

naturally sculpted arraingment of sand and pavement crumblings. Ah . . . Summertime. Seems like a long time ago in November. Ah. But do we need to live on a beach to love a beach? If I were there now it would be too cold. They would have locked the gate. The State Police would investigate why my car was parked. They wouldn't hassle me if I show them that I'm doing photography. In Summer the gate is open till 8 PM. The light of the early evening sparkles. Those end of the day beach photos give a wonderful display of sand and stone, wave and sky, clouds and birds. As the weather is cold and the sky is dark ("and the moon . . . is the only . . . light I see" - Ben E King) Here are some photos from last summer. I would have put them up then but . . . Instead I put up other ones. Nov 18, 2006 naturally sculpted stone in the late day sun on a beach. Note the tiny bug to the left of the stone The clouds obscuring the lateday sun give an effect that is often used in movies to represent . . . the Shekinah, hence the quote of a joke about Noah.

" 'Noah. I want you to build an ark'" -Bill Cosby quoting an obvious source in his famous routine.

Bug on a clam on the beach being photographed in the late day.

I don't squash bugs like these. I will squash your software bugs, and with minimal mess!

Soft puffs of clouds above the sea. There are people standing near the shore, obscured, you can't tell who they are. There are only a few. The sun is behind a cloud but the far away ocean is in full sun. An empty lifeguard chair is prominent on the left side of this photo.

At the end of the day the beach is almost empty.

A childs sneaker print in the sand. The word 'MARC' is embossed into the sole of the shoe and promonent in the center of the shoe print.

Marc must have been here but he's not here now.

A woman with a large full lenth mumu walks the beach as a silhouette in the late day. The sparkling effect of the light on the waves creates a visual spectacle. The joy in the picture is that there are many silhouttes walking in the lateday glow of magical light.

When the light is right you just need to know how to set up the camera and be in the right location and pointed in the right direction . . .

Today on the radio Howie Carr called the hit-and-run alledged by a State Senator a 'hackcident'. Very Funny. Nov 17, 2009 Leafless tree grow with a lean over the Conn. River, October, 2009, Rt 12, New Hampshire. (near Vermont)
