Linux tells you everything

Linux tells you everything you need to know.

Yes, it's not fun to be an expert in boot loading grub2. As far as that goes, there are so many issues, many of which are so important to get right. So if there are 'issues' with a system, it's good to ascertain how to mitigate them in the most optimized way possible, and for the purposes of education. I become obcessed and it's a bad way to loose sleep, get squirilly. What if I loose everything. . . how will I survive . . such a great loss. And you get over it. You already have a process in place? Every so often I have to dive in to the deep water of Linux journalctl and parse through all of the information glenned from the copius messaging in there.

It was actually kind of nice to be off line for a while. I had to do a lot to get things right, but I've been planning new things anyway. It just makes much more solid what I've been needing to make more firm, the purpose of it? What new direction? The stuff that I should cut off because it' doesn't do anything for any body. You can't make pages that dance around if you want to present text because they have too much bandwidth, and people don't like complete nonsequitor. Instead they seem to want to focus on one small part. They want a 'tweet' not a complex content entity with feeds from 6 columns, each of which can be set to be at any of a very long list of possible pages. So if I had a 100 for each of the 6 columns (maybe just five), and each could be on any one, that would 100^5 (because their are 5) possible configurations for the home page of mine. Each of these is possible. I used to say 'spawn of 10,000 websites' as a byline, very many years ago. My architecture allows a single page to have a multiplicity of faces. It only takes someone with a lot more time and energy, of some future generation, perhaps, to try and figure out the use of such a system. In my case to present content. So it's possible to have a 'snap shot' of a particular time of the web content of that day. It's a feature not yet implemented.

After too much time doing it system administration gets boring. Maybe it's time to drive off into the rising sun and end up at the beach some place way-south of here. I could be in Florida in 20 hours if I leave right now that is tomorrow afternoon. I'm not that crazy. or am I. What did I loose when I lost the old root? Some configuration files, some tuxkart files (which can mostly be reproduced) and all of the minetest worlds. I still have very many pictures of those worlds, and they could, as well, be reproduced. But they did represent a particular time of my life when I was recovering from a leg injury and sitting down and dwelling within the minetest world did give me some time to heal. You can only do that kind of thing for so long. I used to think of it as 'the season of video games' it usually started sometime in october. Now I use blender, instead. And I find that I can craft some fairly interesting scenes. I'm not that proficient at it yet. I've still got a lot to learn. The technology is still fairly nacent. The peopel involved with 'virtual worlds' are particularly obcessed. What I found fascinating, and adictive, with minetest wasn't 'playing' the game, but building the world. I discovered that I could load some private person's 'world builder' mods, and that let me go nuts with building all kinds of detailed landscapes and buildings. I crafted a lot using very simple commands such as 'tile', which lets you select a part and then reproduce it in 3-D array form. Using this I made giant structures, and very much enjoyed my self for very many hours. But as with anything like that eventually it's tiring. i got my legs back and was able to do much more interesting things like planting vines outside, and doing various physical things beyond just mouse jockeying. Fun stuff, mine test! The kids love the commercial version which is the obvious and ubiquitous at the toy store. As well there are now toy cars and play sets.

Stacking is an important thing to learn how to do. In Blender one can do a kind of stacking by creating arrays of nodes as an object and then using 'dupliverts'. It's a very interesting technique. Quickliy, however, utilizing such methods, one can hit the wall of too much is just too much. Some call that a 'stack overrun'.

Using 'dupliverts' is a type of multiplication. Profiling the number of nodes and surfaces in a blender model is a very important and critical part of making useful things for use in virtual worlds or three dimensional modelings, and video games.
